At the very least nobody died from Jack's fantasy stories that I know of, and he did probably get some people to exercise who might not normally do so, but it's still an example of the fame & fortune to be made in the Health & Wellness area if you come up with a backstory that resonates with the public as Jack's clearly did. BTW, if you go to Jack's Wikipedia page at Link #13, "Ja

OK, I'll stick this here. If you want to move it to another/more appropriate Forum Category, feel free. As I mentioned previously, I've done a lot of research on Health Gurus, primarily Paul & Patricia Bragg, Norman Walker, Ann Wigmore (nobody seemed to know her "birth name" before I found her Ellis Island records), St. Louis Estes, etc., etc. Maybe because they can tell the m

Not mentioned in this story is that her mother, after being diagnosed with breast cancer, and refusing conventional medical treatment, opting instead for the Gerson protocol, also fairly recently died from her condition. From what I've at least read, both mother & daughter were making substantial sums from their conditions prior to their respective demises.

I wholeheartedly agree with you SuzE. That 10 cancer doctors gave this guy his alleged diagnosis, and that when he returned to the US, they were amazingly all dead? Makes a Cute Story, But. People Lie A Lot. A few years ago I was reading a newspaper interview with a researcher in the Los Angeles area who was associated with an institute that does longevity studies. As an aside, he said that

From my wading through the Health & Wellness Guru stories for the past 10 years, with ?Dr.? Norman W. Walker being the first of several, nothing surprising here as to authenticity. They ALL seem to have one foot in the grave, then metamorphosis through some system they sell to the public, then wealth & a big ego trip. It'll be really interesting to see how this particular story plays ou

My sister, at age 58, was diagnosed with lung cancer back in 1999. She was diagnosed fairly early as her doctors were already watching her lungs because of chronic pulmonary disease which started a few years before. Since her lungs were already not in great shape because of that, her cancer was treated not by surgery but first by radiation, then a round of chemotherapy. Her tumor got smaller &

It was I who did the background on Norman Wardhaugh Walker for Chet Day's website many years back, & got an Arizona contact to take THAT photo of the joint Walker gravestone. which I sent on to Mr. Day.. I didn't buy into the story that Walker lived anywhere from 109 to 117 years at the time, and found my suspicions to be absolutely correct.

As to Hippocrates Health Corp., the for-profit Delaware Corp. controlled by Mr. Clement, according to Vicki Johnson, the PR rep for the center, that Corp. has no activity and "earns nothing". "Founder of Hippocrates Health Institute Sued Successfully Twice", Hamilton Spectator, Tim Almenciak, Reporter, published Feb. 21, 2015, on-line. Interestingly, though the article s

Just to put the cart before the horse---has it ever been determined the institution of learning that Clement got his degree in biochemistry that he claims? Or is that an earlier lie? Interestingly, a bachelor's degree in biochemistry is the exact same story Patricia Bragg has claimed, though at least she gave UC-Berkeley as its source, though she dropped out after her sophomore year...perhaps a

Not sure where you get the (nutty) ideas that Paul Bragg died in a surfing accident in Hawaii, OR died choking on a fish bone at a dinner in Florida. But I guess that's par for the Bragg Story & its followers. Paul Bragg died at 1:15 PM in the early afternoon of December 7, 1976 at the Emergency Room of South Shore Hospital in Miami, Florida after being "stricken at the Crest View Ap

OK, I checked the 1940 Census on Mr. La Pollo. At the time he was living at the home of Mr. & Mrs. William Pincard & their two young sons in Bronxville, Westchester, NY, which I believe is & was a rather "tony" area. He was listed as the family butler-chef. His age was given as 32, but the census info came from Mrs. Pincard, not directly from him. And here, his birthplac

Bernando LaPollo's name & age came up in the past here, and in a March 13, 2012 post, I told what I found out about him, mainly from the 1930 US Census, when he & his wife, Rose, (her age given as 20) were living in a boarding house in St. Petersburg FL. He gave his age there as 22, his occupation as a "cook", which ties into his stories in media publications as working as a &q

Of course we don't know that Clement actually has a Ph.d from The University in Monseratt either, do we? Only that he claimed he did in one piece of advertising from a lecture he did a year or two back. He certainly still doesn't mention it currently at his HHI website, which raises questions about its veracity. A perfect example I ran across was in a fairly recent newspaper interview in th

Clement claims a degree in biochemistry in his Our Team Bio at HHI, but seems either too humble or forgetful as to where it came from. Odd that. He also claims decades of research, but neither HHI nor Wigmore's Institute for that matter show up in the 20 million or so studies, papers, et al, at PubMed, which includes many abstracts, et al from alternative health journals. Odd that. (There was

The raw food health guru from the 1930ties with the 12 kiddos (not mentioning the 3 from his first marriage)? Some links have been recently added to his Wikipedia page, which incudes a photo line-up of his raw-raised 11 children, his 12th not yet born, circa 1938. Frankly they look kind of scrawny to me. And several rather unhappy looking. Maybe there was some early resentment by the kids

BTW, according to the Florida Secretary of State, HHI operates as both Non-Profit & For-Profit Corporations there. The For-Profit was incorporated in the State of Delaware (which state does many incorporations for national companies, etc. that have no connection with Delaware) several years ago. I have no idea exactly how HHI operates as a Non-Profit though, if it still even does. I did

I went back to "Our Team" at the HHI website, and I still see NO indication of exactly WHERE this eminent Doctor received any degrees whether off-shore or on-shore. Even Clement's "claimed" biochemistry degree source remains a mystery. Not Good. BTW, just because a person's name appears as the author of a book of any stripe, don't assume that said person even wrote the book. A few years ago there was a public comment from the American Public Library Association (or such similar named group of librarians) that over 60% of the books coming out are actually written by others/ghostwriters. This has been going on for decades. If you goog

SueZ: I just rechecked my genealogy sources, and in both the birth date for BC comes up as Nov. 17, 1951. It's been my experience that self-styled health gurus (Paul Bragg, St. Louis Estes, Norman Walker) tend to ADD years to their age if they think they can get away with it. Sorry Tai, at this point, I don't know anything about Clement's Swedish history if such exists..

SueZ: I have no idea when the first/earlier marriage began; only when the Florida Divorce Index said it ended, which was 1990. I'm not sure what you're basing your conclusions on. The Massachusetts Corporate documents give Becky the Clement name as early as 1982. For someone born in 1955, it could have been at least several years earlier.

OK, I looked a little further, and Becky R. Clement seems to have become Becky R. Sirois. Her current age is given as 59, which correlates to a 1955 birth year. The White Pages gives previous listing locations for her as both North Easton, Mass. & West Palm Beach, FL. Using 2009, a 26 year old would have had a circa 1983 birth, so it looks like she & Brian Clement had at least one child

I'm just guessing, but likely sometime between 1987 & 2008 (which year that palatial house at "130" was built), a couple of addresses/houses came down, and that's how 126 Alhambra Place disappeared into history, That's real estate in "tony" areas for you. I don't know what happened to Becky. She may have remarried. Doesn't Brian Clement have four children?
