OK John, let's see some documented evidence that the American Cancer Society spent 5 million dollars on a five year study that "showed that the only thing that stopped the reproduction of cancer cells was wheat juice." Flora's more recent email as you posted didn't exactly have her batting 1,000 even remotely for accuracy. BTW, I had a minor encounter a few years back with Dr. Arthu

The point still is that Miss Flora never correctly understood what went on in the Pauling/Robinson dispute (I'll assume her naivete here rather than outright lying), then our Mr. Rose, in his wisdom, rushed to print with her claptrap, because he liked the sound-bite, and here we are.

Mr. Rose, have you actually taken the time to check on the authenticity of ?Dr.? Flora's screed? The lawsuit brought by Dr. Arthur Robinson against the Linus Pauling Institute, went on for five years, and was never won there (in the San Mateo, CA Superior Court) by him. Robinson sued the Institute for $67.4 million in damages; it was eventually settled out of court for $575,000, $450,000 of whic

RP: Not sure which of my claims you're questioning re NWW---that he was in the Real Estate Business, that he spent time in the NY City jail, or something else? As for my source on Walker's larceny conviction & sentencing, that info came from both the articles in the NY Times & from copies of the actual Court records sent to me by The City Of New York Department of Records & Info

Thanks Suze. I just read his "bio" at Wikipedia, and he & Bragg must have been twins separated at birth! I hadn't read that Wiki article in several years, & just realized how much their (alleged) life stories melded. They must have been channeling each other. Note that they were both born in 1895, but in the end Hauser died in 1984, rather than Bragg's 1976, so Hauser wins

Good early LA health guru history, but the author left out some of the usual suspects such as Norman Walker, Dr. St. Louis Estes (Estes graduated from Northwestern University's Dental School, so technically earned a bona fide Dr. title), and there was one other guy very similar to Paul Bragg, who also billed himself as Health Consultant to the Stars---he supposedly had Marlena Deitrich (sp?) in h

Sorry John, but Walker's NYC legal troubles were found by me not for digging for dirt as you put it, but rather more innocently when I asked a friend who subscribes to the New York Times Archives (1880ties to about 1970ties) to see if Norman Walker had done health lectures there, such as was concurrently being done by Paul Bragg, Dr. St. Louis Estes, & others throughout the U.S. WITH proper

Nobody (at least nobody who's talking) seems to know the state of his health nor cause of his death. I'm sure his death certificate is out there, but has never been produced. If you last another 20 years, you can get a copy from the State of Arizona since they currently have a 50 year-after-death law on issuing death certs. except to certain parties---so mark your calendar. I did find someth

The photo I mentioned that (allegedly) "proves" Norman Wardhaugh Walker's 118 year-old death age is apparently in the possession of Rev. Malkmus who runs a place called Hallelujah Acres. The story of how that possession came to pass is covered in his on-line article from 2011 entitled "Norman W. Walker: Juicing Pioneer-Hallelujah Diet". I note that although both sides of tha

magazine, formerly The Atlantic Monthly, by Sarah Laskow, which ran in their Nov. 20, 2014 issue. You can access it on line by its title "The Man Who First Juiced". His alleged "104" age takes you to a video interview at a farmer's market-type venue between Matt Monarch & a woman who said she was Walker's "waitress", although where & when is unclear. BT

In a previous quote, didn't the President/Founder of this off-shore school not seem to know this Brian Clement? Seems like he would have been their most illustrious alumnus in the decade this school has been in existence. Also wonder what exactly it takes academic-wise to earn a "Doctorate" from this University? I would imagine the curriculum would be pretty standard whether done on

BTW, don't know if anybody was aware, but ?Dr.? Norman Walker spent a couple of years in one of New York's prisons in the early 193ties due to a scam he ran. My genealogy contact with access to the NY Times Archives found a series of six articles on him & his business partner the newspaper published circa 1933; his business partner, though also arrested & put on trial, was eventually ex

Really interesting article published today by ORAC at the Science Blogs. Particularly how Jess got into "the Business" & the money she made off it---before she unfortunately died. I had read that Jess's mother was making a six figure income off her breast cancer before she also died. No wonder Belle, considering her personality, also jumped on the bandwagon.

The Harmonic Quad "Zapper" was invented by James R. Overman, N.D., who died on May 18, 2012 at the rather young age of 70, cause, at least per his newspaper obituary, unknown. His place of death was Millersburg, Ohio. I'll have to look further into his cause of death, and maybe why his Zapper didn't save him. I'd sure wait before I spent $350, but your call.

I wonder on what basis Sylvia believes (or more likely needs to believe) that Dr. Ghen "has had amazing success curing cancer". He's a D.O. physician currently licensed in Florida, but seems to have had some problems in North Carolina & Florida in the past in his medical practice history assuming it's the same guy. He runs a website called Dr. Mitch's Health or some such where he

I see in an above statement that Norman Walker "lived long and died healthy". The first part is true as 99 is pretty old, though not unusual, for a male in the late 20th Century. The second part is unknown and may not be true. When I did my Bio sketch on Walker for Chet Day's health website several years back---I think it was eventually called "Norman Walker Really died at 99&

I don't see where "Oncologist Mark Simon" is any kind of "oncologist". He doesn't even seem to have a N.D. to call his own. These people are coming out of the woodwork, especially from Australia, where this "model" originally seems to have hailed from. Must be all that water....

Yes, I did realize that J's alleged cure was 14 years ago, but notice that they also ran a health & wellness place at some unknown dates between 2001 & now, called the Centre For Optimum Health, aka the Zen Zero Centre, on Vancouver Island, Canada with something like 20 employees---far beyond "writing a few books & trying to get a movie made". Sounds like an attempt at a com

As I said Fresh, after 30 plus years, I finally threw out some old papers, including the remainder from my husband's testicular cancer episode from 1982 a few years back. At that point, they were mostly detailed Blue Cross insurance invoices. However, if we planned on making a career out of claiming his cure came from not from conventional medicine but rather from coffee enemas, multi-gallons o

I went to Janette Murray Wakelin's "Janette's Story" page, and I don't see anything there to make me think it any more authentic than Belle's recovery from lung cancer; Paul Bragg's recovery from TB; Ann Wigmore's recovery from colon cancer; Jay The Juiceman's recovery from bladder cancer; and LaLanne's recovery from, well, underweight & pimples. Guess I'm just a hard sell....

I'm always amazed that people buy into these cancer cure stories without a shred of evidence that the stories are even remotely true. Didn't people just get blindsided on the Belle Story? Yes, Paul Bragg died at age 81. As far as I know, he seemed to be in good health at the time of his Florida death. I tracked down & talked by phone to one of his granddaughters---a lady now in her late 70ties---several years ago. She told me, among many other things, that Paul used to dress her little Shirley Temple-style with the cork-screw curls, and she did a little song & dance act a

No, SuzE, I can't say that I've ever run across a Health & Wellness Guru that I've felt had a legitimate backstory to tell. Maybe some day. BTW, when I was attempting to determine (or not) the veracity of LaLanne's "Me & Paul Story", I was having problems finding an early-before-he-got-famous interview with Jack that at least mildly backed up his miserable to healthy life as
