Your body does not depend soley on foods as a source of acidity. Many metabolic activities that occur naturally in your body generate acidic waste or byproducts. By eating healthy foods, you are providing the counterbalance to stay within a normal ph range.

Some people use their Champion Juicer to make ice cream from frozen fruits such as bananas. I'm not sure if that also has a negative impact on the machine as it could on blenders or food processors. Maybe Bruce could give some feedback on this.

Make it a gentle pleasant transition rather than a battle with you fighting against cooked and non-raw. Be aware that it is highly probable that it will not be a linear transition forward all the time, wherein once you increase the % of raw foods, you will never go backwards to a lower % raw or increased volume of cooked. So when it happens, don't beat up on yourself for doing so. Just pick up

Norman Walker in some of his books advocated both eating and juicing potatoes. I tried eating a sliver of one, but it didn't appeal to me and the juice was okay, but not necessarily outstanding. There was a thread a while back on this subject so you could look up more on in the archives.

Thanks for the info. Not only colors, but the arrangement and texture can make a difference in the appearance and how appealing it is to the eye. What I liked about the cauliflower is that at least in the photo it seemed to have a creamy texture and especially in the second one that seemed to have a scrambled egg-like appearance. Keep up the good works...I'm sure these photos as well as the r

Maui Greg: Your pictures are gorgeous and the colors in the food vibrant unlike a cooked food look. I too had a question about the taters. Did you use the yellow cauliflower to get that effect or white caulilflower with carrots? I have Cousen's book and saw the recipe you based the taters on, but didn't see how to get such a vivid yelllow--unless a curry or yellow spice was also used.

Thanks for the photos. For some reason I pictured the plant as a small shrub. The foliage stands out in contrast to its background. What areas of the country does it grow in?

Hello Claire: Regarding fruits, you may want to keep in mind that ripe raw fruits, whether with moderate or relatively high % of sugars do not release it into the blood stream the same as refined simple sugars. Simple refined/processed sugars are released faster from the digestive system, and in turn causes the spike of insulin and possible crash afterwards. Complex carbohydrates as in raw

What I'm understanding is that one may face a situation that needs to be resolved (aka a problem), however at at times we resist the challenge of accepting the reality of the situation, and instead fight coming to terms with it. By doing so however, we are detouring valuable energy away from finding a solution to the original challenge and spending a significant amount of that energy resisting

Are you including spices in your diet that can stimulate your nervous system? Some people have problems with MSG that includes products with MSG but with different names including the generic term 'spices' among the ingredients on the label. Some actually describe these chemicals as exitotoxins. Also the time of morning you describe these experiences is when your liver tends to be active, as

Does anyone know of natural versions of hair coloring that does not involve the use of synthetics? A home made version basically from a recipe would be preferred, but at this point, all suggestions would be welcome.

If you don't like it in juiced form, try it in a salad such as tabouli. I've tried it that way and it tasted pretty good. There are different raw variations of tabouli recipes available on the net.

I don't know of any individual who makes raw oil. Not that it can't be done but the equipment to do it is probably beyond the cost most can afford, and the time and volume of the item to be pressed would likely not make it practical.

It sounds as if you may be on the right track looking at the endocrine system. However, with the body being such a complex structure, like you said you may never get to the root of it. Does your brother agree with you that the underlying cause of his problems could be an imbalanced endocrine system, even if a label is not pinpointing what specific syndrome, -itis, -osis, etc. he's experiencin
