Does anyone have any tips on how I can help my grandma, help herself. She has been a product of the Standard American Diet and obesity for years. She smoked from sixteen until into her forties, then quit and put on a lot weight which she hasn't managed to take back off. Because of her weight, she is VERY immobile. (She is 5 foot 7 and about 215 pounds- but with very little muscle mass)

Dear dvdai: I have been meaning to try Ecopolitan. I don't get to the cities too much and when I do it is usually a short trip. I understand that they have raw support meetings on certain nights and everything. I really wish I lived closer to the cities. Thanks for the recipe ideas. I find it interesting that the things that everyone else is eating is so easy to prepare. Here, I have

Thanks so much! Everyone has so much good advice, I appreciate it. I am actually looking forward to cleaning my home today. I am going to go to the market and stock up on Lemons & baking soda. I am going to give the 7th generation laundry soap a try. I already use their dishsoap, etc. I use organic moisturizers, lotions, shampoo & conditioner. You all make a great point abo

I have been reading posts about how many raw foodists keep "clean" houses by using no chemicals, candles, dryer sheets, etc. Reading those posts coupled with an article that I read yesterday (http://home.aol.com/new_in_home/photogallerytall/_a/is-your-home-causing-breast-cancer/20090102185209990001) indicating how bad those things are for the body, I would like to change. My wish

Thanks everyone for the great tips. I have heard about the onion bread and I would like to try that. Also the avocados and tomatoes do sound good. It sounds really quick and easy which is not the case with most cookbooks that I have purchased. The thing that I don't understand about the nutritional yeast is what you do with it on a raw diet. I have eaten it in cooked foods for year

I have done the Master Cleanse three times. Through the cleanse I have completely eliminated my need for carbonated sodas and sugary junk. The first time that I did the cleanse, I stayed on it for ten days and quit after my 2 days on juice for a total of 12 days, but I felt that I could go longer. I have heard mixed reviews on whether the fast should be done longer than 10 days. I quit after

That makes so much sense. I never really thought about it because I am a naturally cold person in Minnesota, but I do get colder when I eat bananas. I guess I should stop. thanks.

Does anyone have/use an Excalibur Dehydrator? I have heard that they are much better to use than the round dehydrators and some models come with timers that shut them off automatically. Are they worth the high price tag or are they just another gimmick?

SAD people think they must eat meat to get protein. But most all animals, i.e. cows, chickens, etc. are vegetarian fed. How does the animal make protein if they don't eat it? It just goes to show that the body does not need protein in their diet.

Hi! I am new to the raw diet and I am new to this site. I am 27 years of age and I have been mostly vegan for about twelve years and completely vegan for about one year. I have started a mostly raw diet many times and I really would like to stick to it because I FEEL SO GOOD. I have no friends who are vegetarian, much less raw vegan. It is really hard to be completely vegan when cooked food

I have just started being raw myself. I have been about 95% for the past two weeks, but I have been vegan for almost one year and vegetarian for about 12 years. So far, I am loving the way that I feel. What has kept me going is the fact that I detoxed before I went raw and got all of the caffeine, white sugar, etc. out of my body and I no longer crave that stuff. Also, I have tried many new r
