I am feeling much better. Thank you, everyone, for your advice. The good part too is my grandmother made it out of the hospital! I was called last wednesday and was told that she had 2 days to live. She is doing much better now and she is at the nursing home to recover from pnemonia (sp). I appreciate the advice (so much). I think it must have been detox symptons as you all suggested.

Something is wrong... I did the Master Cleanse for 3 weeks starting February 12, 2009 and I have been raw ever since. Just before I came off of the fast, I came down with some sort of cold or flu and I quit the fast because of feeling so lousy. I have now been eating raw and I cannot seem to feel good. I am tired all of the time, sometimes such that it is a chore to just stand up. Is m

I have been religiously following a food combining regimine for about a year now and I have recently began to read that juicing doesn't have quite the benefit as green smoothies because of the fiber that is in the concoction. How is it okay that to mix fruit and vegetables in green smoothies? Does it have something to do with the mastication of the vegetables for easy digestion.

I am on the cleanse again (day 15). I feel great. I have the urge to completely clean out my entire house...I have been decluttering everything. I do yoga or pilates almost every day, my energy level is high. I am going to continue until my tounge turns back to pink as the book suggests this time. I am hoping this fast will help me end my dependency on cooked food. I have been doing the raw

Are there any raw food restaurants still open in San Diego? I plan to take a trip there at the end of the month (March) and my research has found that most of them have closed, how sad. Can anyone offer any advice? I found that Cilantro Live closed in San Diego (all over actually) and then reopened in Chula Vista. There is also one in Lemon Grove that didn't have an appetizing menu. Also t

When you water fast, is that the extent of it- you drink only water for 24 hours or do you have to do something to make sure the toxins aren't re-absorbed by the body?

I found a link to a preview of the book that has many recipes and some pictures on it. The recipes sound really good....especially the onion bread.

The online support group is great! I think it would be even better to hang out with other raw foodies. If you are from or around MN, let me know and we could chat and see about connecting for lunch or something. kj

Roxeli: I am so trying to get to where you are. I work two jobs and find it difficult to not use an alarm clock, but on my days when an alarm is not necessary, my whole day seems to go better and I feel great. I have just weaned myself off of shampoo and I have been looking for an alternative to body gel. Does the Apple Cider Vinegar dry out your skin? I have been using baking soda massa

I picked up some green produce bags by Debbie Meyer yesterday which are reusable bags to extend the life of produce. Supposedly the fruit/veg give off ethylene gases which occur during the ripening process with exposure leading to accelerated aging and deterioration of the produce. The bags are made with a mineral "oya" that is supposed to extend the life of the produce by removing th

I too have heard that distilled water is best. There are no minerals in the distilled water and I am not sure that is good for us. I drink spring water mostly and dasani & aquafina only when I am in a pinch. Spring water is more natural than the dasani or aquafina which is as I understand it, just tap water that is filtered.

Wow, Dvdai: That is amazing. Do you feel satisfied eating almost exclusively rabbit-like? I have tried to incorporate nuts, seeds, avocados, etc. so that I can feel more complete. I need more variety in my life it seems. Why is it that you have decided to stop eating onions. I don't like onions, but I understand they are good for me so I force myself to eat them. I am such a cold p

I found this online: There are also some cheesy illustrated pictures to demonstrate the moves. Chi-Gong Workout Ever tried chi-gong (also spelled qigong)? Ever even heard of it? No, it’s not a tea or percussion instrument, but a 2000-year-old series of bodily movements and breaths that calms the spirit and the mind. It has also been shown to strengthen the immune system, reduce stress,

A friend of mine told me that Chi-gong is a great exercise that is really cleansing and good for the endocrine system. Does anyone do this and does anyone know where I can obtain a DVD or something regarding it? I have looked at mainstream places like Target and Barnes and Noble with no luck. I do yoga twice a day and I love it. I sometimes throw pilates in there for good measure and

Eating ants is so nasty, I cannot even imagine. I just sprinkle some nutritional yeast from time to time. Your body doesn't need a lot of B-12 and I have heard that your body can hold it for like 5 years.

I have been looking for a place to buy Nama Shoyu for months. I have checked natural food stores, grocery stores, and natural food sections of grocery stores. I cannot find it anywhere. Also-- where can I find celtic sea salt and why is it different from regular sea salt?

Ok. I did it. I went out in public without make-up -None! Something that I have not done since I was 12 or so. It is quite amazing because people seemed to notice me more. A man at the store who was ringing up my order just kept looking at me and smiling and bringing up all kinds of conversation to continue talking. Maybe people prefer to see someone more natural...or maybe it is all in my

Lillianswan: Thank you. I hate the medical world. Many of the medications out there that are meant to help end up hurting another part of your body. I am sure that you are correct about the heart medications. I have heard mixed reviews about coconut oil. Some claim that it is so bad for you. Do you suppose my grandma could benefit from that knowing that her arteries are so badly clogged?

I purchased a Spirooli to make the zucchini into "noodles". It is the slickest gadget I have ever seen. It expells the noodles into perfect spaghetti-like noodles and the seeds come out in one small solid straw-like mass. I think it allows to use more of the zucchini than just peeling it. It has other blades that come with it that I have not yet experimented with.

Thanks. I like the idea of maintaining all of the enzymes. I was kind of thinking that the one that I currently have been using must be killing those off because there is no temperature monitor on it. Thanks for the website. I will check it out to see if I can find an affordable Excalibur. -kj

Thank you all for your kind words and support. I have been keeping her in my prayers and I do understand the concept of being unable to help someone who cannot (will not) help themselves. My other family members are close, but they don't buy into my way of life. They continue to feed her meatloaf and potatoes. She drinks cup upon cup of coffee a day. She has decreased her salt intake due to
