Today I haven't eaten much yet. Usually I start with fresh fruit, but had run out and have now been to the shop to stock up. So had a couple of handfuls of gogi berries. Then I made a raw cacao milk with soaked almonds, raw agarve (but usually don't sweeten my milks), a heaped teaspoon of maca, a little Himalayan sea salt and a little kelp powder, a tablespoon of ground flax seeds, a h

As I am quite new to raw eating, please share with me any useful time saving tips that you might have. I'm sure you have some. For example, when I buy organic veg from Organic farm shop (instead of supermarkets), the veg eg carrots is totally caked in clay type soil. As I eat a lot of veg, there must be easier ways of getting the soil off rather than spending ages scrubbing it. Also when

I've made these twice now and they are so yummy. (Once with walnuts and once with pecans). I'm quite new to this though, so couple of basic questions. Perhaps you could help me pls, because I think these are going to be one of my favourite treats. I don't have any coconut butter - so used raw cacao butter instead for the icing. I ended up using a thermometer in the bowl of water(that I pu

Hi, I eat home sprouted garbanzo (chick peas) once or twice every week and no problems. I do sort them well before and during the sprouting process though. I find quite a few greenish coloured ones and some mouldy ones which I discard. I'm not sure what it would do to you if you ate those, but cannot be healthy. I find the shop bought sprouted chickpeas to be no where near as fresh and often

I love watermelon too. I find it hard to get organic ones too, but when I do I am in heaven. It could be a nutrient or something in them that we need and our body knows. Earlier in the summer I was like that with blueberries and was eating lots of them and now it is red grapes. I'm hoping it is my body's wisdom that is leading me.

Hi, In reply to humbug's earlier query ref romaine lettuce in UK. The large supermarkets sell them eg Sainsbury, Waitrose and Tesco (organic too). I don't think I've seen them in the farm shop I often go to though. So depends where you shop. John

Hi Ian, Sounds really yummy. Would love to eat some right now. I can't get organic young coconut meat where I live. Could you (or anybody else) suggest an alternative to it that would work in the recipe? Thanks John

Yep ... guess I will keep having the raw sprouted hummus with plenty of garlic cloves in it (they say it is a natural antibiotic). Fresh lemon juice is supposed to be quite good too I believe (?). So I will keep having such with lettuce and spinach etc.

Hi, You mentioned menstrual pain and hoping that the raw food lifestyle will help with this. My sister (50 - 70% raw) drinks chamomile herbal tea (herbalist quality not the stuff in tea bags) 3 or more times a day for her period pain. She just puts some in a tea pot and pours on boiling water and leaves to stand for 10 mins. She couldn't, and still can't, believe how effective it is. Som
