My tips: I always had the most sensitive skin of anyone I know... Take it easy on "raw" nuts, "raw" grains and breads, and don't overeat oils. You should be be eating more fruits, veggies, salads every day than all of this in a high ratio. Cut out nuts and grains for a few weeks at least and you will see tremendous improvement. HIGH CARB!

I have some of the most sensitive skin known to man...In my opinion there is more to it than just "raw vegan diet" or not... but when I eat a proper raw vegan diet my skin is perfectly clear, smooth and soft as it never is on any other "diet." I eat very little proteinaceous things and high in fruit/veggies/greens and fresh juices to achieve this result.

I am not sure how you would eat such little avocado... I couldn't do it and save it for the next day or further on... I have not been eating much in the form of oils and have had no virtually zero nuts for weeks, but I don't know if I could stop eating avocados... maybe a phase. I haven't had one this week though...

I found mangos 5 for 5$ and have eaten almost nothing but those for three days... save for some tomatoes and dates which were also delicious by themselves Heirloom tomatoes are simply amazing and I never thought I could eat a tomato by itself before. I ate 3 by morning after I bought them.. never been able to eat a tomato like that EVER. Maybe part of it has been the amazingly simple way I

It isn't about a percentage, it is about overall healthiness (if that 5 or 10 or 30% is complete junk that is just as bad as just straight vegan). I can eat 90% raw and be as unhealthy as if I was eating 50% raw. Or be very healthy eating 50% raw... Try to listen to your body, give it the food it needs (not what tastebuds want) and don't deprive it... make the journey fun without feeling like

G.T. Dave's Kombucha (at Whole Foods) when sweetened with different flavors (grape, cranberry, etc.) has juice added which equates to the 5% you were talking about in another thread. You can buy original which is straight kombucha; also, you can buy the varieties with puree'd fruit instead of the juices. Strawberry is puree, as is mango.

Eat nothing but watermelon is a good trick as Harmony has said. It is very delicious and makes you feel amazingly clean and flushes you out as well.

How would you even know if you WEREN'T getting enough B12? It is a complete non-concern for me. I have been vegan 3 years and have not had one "symptom" of B12 deficiency. I think it is one of those myths that people worry about and think their problems stem from, but in reality the problem comes from other causes. You should worry about eating enough variety of fruits/veggies/etc

I think your body tells you when you've had enough avos. It is harder to overdo avos, unlike nuts and dried things. They don't make you crave them and not fill you up at all like the other noted items. I eat them when I feel like I WANT/NEED fat and stop when that feeling is gone.

Sunshine! I don't know about instantaneous help for your problems, but being outside in fresh air and getting some sun does help people with feeling better. This is why in winters people typically are in not as great moods in regions where there are harsh winters and the like. I know that when I get sun everyday I feel much better than when I don't. Everybody needs some Sun! Just wondering

I would agree with above posts. If you aren't hungry, don't eat just to eat. Do not count calories, I think it is such a burden and something that does not need to be worried about, especially when you are trying to transition to a raw diet. Just eat by what your body wants, not your tastebuds. Eat when you're hungry, don't when you're not, keep it SIMPLE!

Well...a lot of different places lol. If you have to know some specific source (and you need such a small amount) I drink raw kombucha. But mostly because I like to drink it, not for "benefits" from it. As far as meat and cheese, I have probably eaten more cheese than most any person on this board for the 16 years I ate it. I am from Wisconsin and used to frequently eat entire blo

1100 a day isn't very much. I am using this program Cronometer, kind of just for fun to see what I am doing. I typically go by what I feel, and always make sure to try some greens every day to see if you want them or not. If you don't go out of your way to try some veggies I find I don't eat them at all! Don't limit yourself though when it comes to fruits/veggies. If you aren't full, eat som

Ferg, you said it right before you unsaid it! It is VEGAN... and RAW. Not just raw... or just vegan. I think those who run the board are less concerned with people talking about steamed veggies than they are raw cheese/meats (disgusting?) and the like. Show me your canine teeth, and videos of you running down and killing an animal then killing it with your bear tooth and nail and I'll tell

I don't know about transition foods, but I do think that if you get a balanced range of raw, vegan foods you will not have overwhelming cravings. What people typically call "transition" foods are heaver things, dehydrated items, nut butters, complex raw cuisine dishes and such. This type of eating should not be the majority of anyone's diet in my opinion. Keep it simple, keep it fun,

See how much you crave nuts when you have to handshell them... lol Same goes for eating sesame seeds in their natural state, eat them in the natural state to see how many you would eat... Not to be negative, but I would have to agree with fresh in saying it is a craving not necessarily for protein but for something else. I think everyone has gone through this though, including myself.

Adding to what David said, a lot of people typically undereat when they go raw. They cut out almost all of the foods from their current diet, and don't add enough back in!!! Try new foods, even foods you may not have liked before (I hated olives, now I love them, same goes for almost everything I eat now) and make sure you eat enough so you are not hungry Salads are great, you can put anyth

I say this because my naturalist doctor with a masters in biochemistry and is very knowledgeable plainly said not to eat "raw cacao." He said it is from an unedible tree/plant that you would simply never eat in nature, ever. So I don't eat it... and wont ever. Sorry to crash the party.

I was eating probably 8 avocados on average a day for the past few weeks.. I just wanted the extra fat, I felt I needed it. I do agree with the trend seeming to be "low fat," which I think is something that will come and go like always. I think some people complicate fat with other things and other problems associated with it that shouldn't be. By the way, one of my favorite snack
