Hi Coco - yes I often drink a pint of warm water with the juice and guts of half a lime in it. Teeth feel a bit rough afterwards but I eat fruit about an hour later or bit less and then providing it wasn't acid fruit give teeth a jolly good clean so hopefully it isn't doing harm. Why do we want hydchlric acid production? Rawnoggin - presumably red grapes must be the same - will do some resea

Hi Likeitornot Yes you must be on the floor with a level of 10. Mine was 32 and that ws bad enough (also diagnosed underactive thyroid at same time - but that's another story!). My doctor tells me that normal ferritin levels are anywhere between 50 - 200. At 78 he signed me off but I still felt appalling and when I went back to him 3 months later they had slipped to 54. So we are on a

Likeitornot - I don't know about E3 but I too have had very low iron levels. while I loathe taking supplements when you are so depleted I think it is better to get your levels up again with supplements. Once your iron levels are o.k you can stop the supplements and hope that the great way of eating that you have will stop the problen occuring again. I am travelling this route at the moment

My friend was given golden seal as part of a cocktail of herbs to bring her into labour as she was 3 weeks late and the drs. were getting edgy and wanted to induce her. Half an hour after drinking the tea she went into strong labour and shortly afterwards she safely delivered a little girl

Thank you all very much. I have been on prescription iron for quite some time and I was concerned about any effects that might have. I definately feel loads better for getting my iron levels up however when i was eating a sad diet they wouldn't stay up - my doctor suggested bad absortion. Now I am nearly all raw I wonder if my body will absorb the iron better. I will probably stop taking the

Someone mentioned (sorry I can't remember who) that taking iron supplements is quite taxing on the body. I would like this to be explained please.

I expected to feel hungry, I was sure that a salad without any potatoes or rice could never fill me up BUT in reality a huge green salad with one avocado and some seeds fills me up and keeps me going for ages. Often when I felt like I should be hungry I had a pint of water and that did the trick. I trust my body a lot more now and realise that you don't need huge amounts of food to keep you sat

It makes perfect sense to go bare foot doesn't it. my partner goes bare foot most of the summer and can run over gravel and other 'ouchy' surfaces without noticing. this year as it warms up I am going to go barefoot too. Thanks for this topic - it's really touched a chord for me

Do you enjoy being all raw or is it a struggle? I think that when things are challenging for us then emotional issues can be exacerbated or 'disturbed'. i wouldn't think that being raw in itself would cause emotional disturbance. Detox is a funny one - some people seem to suffer all sorts of things when they switch to high raw or all raw; I hardly noticed a thing, I just enjoyed my food even

My doctor didn't tell me that I shouldn't eat raw - infact he said if It works for me then he's quite happy with it. If the urination crises hasn't eased then I would see a doctor. After all you don't have anything to lose - you can always ignore what they say if you choose. I would be a little careful about trying to guess about what may be wrong with you because you could be barking up com

I have never heard of young coconuts - I imagine they can be bought in the big cities in England but they are unheard of where I live. this is a real shame as I am very curious having read so much about them on this forum. Is the flesh soft? sounds weird. I have only had the really hard stuff which i can only eat a bit of before I have had enough. i can never get through a whole coconut.

I don't think you need to worry about complete protein any more. the thinking on that has changed. Bryan I'm glad to hear that you don't soak your nuts and seeds. I too prefer them as they come - infact I really don't like them soaked, but I was a little concerned that i might be doing something 'wrong'. ha ha yes I know, no food police etc

Hi Becky - I live in england too. I completely agree with EZ Rider - don't go and spend a load of money on stuff that you may find you don't want once the novelty has worn off. Shazzies website is REALLY expensive but they have pretty much cornered the market so can charge what they like. Just eat lovely fresh fruit and veg and go from there. don't get caught up in all the hype - marketing

I,m so jealous. I adore all the fruit you are talking about. I can't imagine buying a box of mangos - I buy one or two at a time, they are so expensive here. winter is such a lousy time for fruit in england - roll on summer

Thanks WY. The answer is on this page. www.browfarmwheatproducts.co.uk/wheatgrass.htm this is the company that I have used so far. they seem quick and efficient and very dedicated. As an experienced wheatgrass consumer I would appreciate your opinion (from what you can tell By reading a web site)

I have just ordered some wheatgrass and equipment to start growing my own. Having read much on this forum I decided to enquire what variety of wheatgrass the company had sent me. The strangest reply came back - they said they weren't being funny with me but they don't tell people what the variety is but they can tell me that it is a very old spring milling variety. what do you make of that?

I'm really ignorant but I have never heard of a pbj. Is it the sort of jelly that children eat - you know the wobbly coloured stuff? anyway apart from that, I agree with all the above posts - I really liked Lanies advice. I slip up sometimes when I am making bread for my family and it comes out of the oven with the smell wafting through the house. I still love the smell of freshly baked bre
