I agree, I think when you get to your last 20, 30 lbs you might need to do some calorie restriction but at this point you shouldn't have to worry about it so much as long as the bulk of your foods are fruit and veggies which I am sure they are!

Thats a good point rost. When I feel good and motivated its easy to go a bit overboard and end up too hungry! Even though raw food is healthy that doesn't mean I can't turn it in to a yo-yo diet! Eeek! Thanks!

I had dandruff, and no dandruff shampoo (natural or not) worked until I tried this kind from Avalon Organics I think it worked because it doesn't have sodium lauryl sulphate, which many react too. I can use anything without it now, and still don't have dandruff. Nothing else at all worked! Good luck!

I love this idea too! I would put it in a context of building healthy eating habits, building strong healthy bodies for learning and a good future. Talk about it like an "after school special" and you could actually do more radical things.

I think that a lot of times if a stranger just sat down in front of you, that anyone could sort of guess the health problems that they were suffering from. For example....someone hunched over a bit might have back problems, or someone with yellow skin might have liver problems. There are lots of things like this. Our bodies show our diseases in lots of ways.

Hi Denise, yes I have plenty of experience. I'm not sure about stopping taking antibiotics before you are finished...that might be bad (drug-resistant bacteria etc.). Check out the discussion in the health section of this forum

You are probably better by now but I used to have this problem a lot and I have figured out how to nip them in the bud. What works for me is that 100% cranberry juice Angie talked about, which IS bitter but cut it at like 1:4 with water (one part juice) and drink it all day. Are you healthy in other aspects of your life? I find that if I exercise for more than 90 minutes I am sure to get a cold, it has to do with the stress hormones. Also, plenty of sleep and happiness help!

I don't have any magic answers, sometimes these things just take a lot more time to heal than we think they should! Suggestions that work for me are eating well, of course, sleeping as much as you can, drinking as much water, herbal tea, juice as you can, getting tons of vitamin C, ginger and garlic, and doing things that are nice and calming. I think if you want/need to eat more fruts and veggies but can't afford it this is a problem, maybe add healthy cooked foods until you can afford the raw foods you need to be healthy. I find that I really need to stuff myself to get enough calories to feel good sometimes! Or, maybe play around with more "hearty" raw foods (nuts, oils) and see if that helps. Good luck!

Hello, I am interested in increasing the healthy flora in my body, for a number of reasons. I think that I might have harmed it by stress and coffee, and a bout of bad eating choices.
