I've spent a few days growing my second sprouts - chick peas. They are very short, but I've read they shouldn't be too long, so I think they'll be ready tomorrow. Just wanted to check though, can I really eat them like this?! Actually I tried one tonight and it was soft and tasty, but I'm so used to cooking them for an hour. Also, any recipe ideas? but I'll ask on the recipe board too.

Thank you for this information. Yes, I'm new to the vegan thing, and gradually moving towards just raw food, so I hadn't thought deeply about the fact that molasses aren't raw. I need to look into the herb thing further. Thanks again Humbug

I've been vegan with a lot of raw food since last Friday. The main reasons were to combat depression, but reading other stories I have found other reasons now too. It seems early days, but I do feel a bit more energy already, and I haven't been as moody - which is important as I have a husband and two small boys. This evening when my husband came home I went out and watered all the plants.

I've been reading some really interesting stuff on rawfoodexplained.com. A lot of it is what I already believed or had a hunch was true but was glad to find more evidence to back me up. Two new viewpoints are that blackstrap molasses are no better(perhaps worse) than white sugar, and that herbs are poisons and should be avoided. I feel inclined to believe these viewpoints but would be interest

Is romaine the American name for something we have in the UK, or is it just something I have never come across? Humbug

wow, this looks delicious. I'm new to the whole vegan thing, let alone raw food which I want to get onto in the next few months. At the moment I am missing cakes and milk chocolate most, so I think this will be a good substitute. Humbug

I have a lot of problems with depression, and I think it might be bipolar. Last time I went to my doctor armed with a list of symptoms that I hadn't thought to mention before, she wouldn't listen, and put me back on the medication I was on before, which seemed to make me worse. I have hesitated to go and buy the drug, and have been reading up a lot about diet and relaxation. I have started d

Hi I live near London and am new to all this. In fact, I've only just started to be vegan, so plan to gradually build up the raw food. Even before going vegan I ate a lot of lentils, beans etc, but the whole sprouting idea is news. I have read a bit about it here, but I'm still a bit confused about what I can sprout. What about sunflower and pumpkin seeds that you buy from an average healt
