I believe it is fermented and becomes so salty with that process. I would really like to know the answer too. This topic could be on the main forum, I believe.

Taylor-I love what you wrote about how it feels when you eat the healthy food that you need. I rarely experienced that when I was cooked. I had a perfectly ripe peach the other day and it was like heaven. I had another and then another and then they were gone. If I ate the same peach today I might not get that feeling. After being raw a while I realized very seldom does everyone in the famil

I have a bunch of carrot pulp. My eleven year old loves carrot juice. I needed something to make out of it. Thanks. Do you just mix it in a bowl or process it? How does it stick?

I found powdered dulse at the health food store for seasoning. I use wakame in my seaweed salad with lemon and cucumber, very simple. When I used to make cooked rice sushi I needed a rolling mat but I find it is easier without one for all the raw sushi or nori rolls. I think raw sushi is so much better than cooked and way easier to make.

I noticed after being raw a few months my nails became soft and were chipping. I thought my calcium must be low. I started eating figs. I love them and can't quit eating them which tells me I may have needed them. My nails improved right away.

My eleven year old and I were just talking about how we think all humans lived in tropical environments and then migrated. I would love to go back to living like that. Fruitigirl- I have had the same experience with severly underwieght, homeless dogs and cats. They eat a lot of greens. They always seem to be flushing their bodies for about two weeks before they finally settle in and start

You can put cored apples, peel and all, in a food processor with cinnamon and honey. Just process it up-applesauce. I decided to make some fruit soup for breakfast after reading this yesterday. I made apple and strawberry and pear and raspberry. On both I put chopped kiwi. It was really good and probably the prettiest food in the world.

My grocery store has a discount shelf too. The best part is that it is full of organics because fewer people buy it, I guess.

I don't know how my grandma did it. I have tried many times to make it as good as she did. She didn't make it in the toaster. She had a gas oven and she only toasted one side in the broiler. One side was so soft and the other was buttery. It was like heaven. She also made cereal good. She always only ate "Special K" and I don't know why or how but it was so good. Funny, huh? Th

The wierdest thing I liked to eat was saltine crackers with a dill picle on top and a dallop of ketchup on the pickle. It is making my mouth water now. I liked eating that soft, white part of the grass too. I loved eating honey suckle nectar. I loved showing my kids the art of pulling that stem out slowly so you could get that juice. The best food I ever ate was the veggies straight

We are a family of five, three being kids. The kids and I have been vegetarian for years. Our food bill is considerably more expensive now that we are raw. We are eating very simply, but nuts are a big part of our diet and expense. We eat mostly fruit, nuts and wraps or salads. When I do prepare things it is always simple. Raw has made me not want to be in the kitchen so much and I am so in

I know this is s challenge when you are younger, but if you talk to people in a way that does not open yourself up to critcism you will get a lot less of it. When I talk to people about homeschool, raw food or whatever the case may be I say things matter of factly and if they argue or critsize I completely shut them down, change the subject or walk away. Be strong in your convictions and people

There is a really good raw chili recipe on from "SAD to raw." I had SAD eating friend here and they loved it and even asked me to send the recipe. I am getting a lot of questions about raw lately. The main reason is because my weight is fantastic and I tell them I believe it is the fastest way to loose weight.

I only needed to loose 15 pounds and it came off the first two weeks of going raw months ago. My size has been adjusting ever since. My pants keep getting bigger. My weight is pretty much staying the same. I guess my boddy is just moveing it around.

It was surprising to me that the percentage of women smokers is so much less than men. I like the idea Canada has about putting graphic messages on cig. packs.

I was sick with all three of mine. Ginger tea worked wonders. It was all I needed. I got it in the medicinal tea section of my grocery store. I don't think I was sick because of anything I was eating. Eating somethng bland, like crackers, was a must for me. Congratulations!!! It won't be long and this discomfort will be a memory.

Yummy. Good for him. My husband went raw with me a few months ago. He is very happy he did. He was SAD most of his life. He wants to be healthy and keep up with his healthy family. Your husband is lucky to have such a gourmet wife.

Woody Allen- My husband can't stand him. Some of his movies I like. I just love "Annie Hall", but mainly because of Diane Keaton. Come to think of it, all his movies that I like have leading ladies that I love. Maybe it isn't him that I like, but his taste in women. "Clockwork Orange" was so disturbing for me. It wasn't as disturbing as "Natural Born Killers.&q
