Thanks Kit. I probably am overreacting - and then worrying about it will just make it worse! I am just monitoring the situation but I think it will be OK. I am actually a pretty strict food combiner (even when food is cooked) so that wouldn't be it. Thanks again for your kind thoughts!

Thanks Dave! Well, I don't know if ice cream is my kryptonite, (LOL!) but once in awhile you want something more than a bowl of fruit. Plus, it's a nice thing to feed non-rawies~!

How about Instant Raw Sensations by Frederic Patenaude? Very simple, quick, low-fat ideas in there.

Thank you Kwan. Bananas don't really bother me too much, but I will try the celery idea. I do put greens like kale or chard in my fruit smoothies. I am not as bothered by the bloating as I am this gnawing sensation in my gut - almost like insatiable hunger. Does this sound familiar to anyone and if so, any tips to conquer it!? Thanks again!

Hi - I live in the Midwest and am gentle on myself in winter. I tend to lightly steam my kale/chard and have a baked sweet potato with it on occasion. I also really enjoy miso soup. I remain vegetarian and focus on food combining and eat about 80% raw. It's really hard to want to wolf down a smoothie or a big bowl of fruit after shoveling snow in minus 0 degree weather! Oh - I also warm myself wi

Hi - Lovely subject, I know... But since going back to about 98% raw after falling off the wagon for about a year, I seem to be bloating a lot. Also with this is a sharp pain in my gut, made much worse by pressing hard on my belly button. (That's the vacinity of the sharp pain.) Has anyone ever had this and is it just gas or could there be something else going on, like with the pancreas or someth

Sorry to hijack - but Aqua - how would you characterize the Wigmore diet and how did it make you sick? Cheers and thanks!

Another thing I didn't add here - in many cities you see community garden plots. We need more of these. These are an excellent way for more people to get organically grown foods, and grow a sense of community, too. The way our social class system runs right now, Hozwe, I'm afraid in most cases healthy is for the more wealthy - or the more educated... It doesn't have to be that way though!

Hello - another factor to use in this comparison: most SAD (standard American diet) eaters buy a ton of things like chips, rice cakes, cookies, crackers, etc.... These foods are expensive and unneccesary. Raw foodists don't eat much pre-prepared junk, if any. So there is some savings there. Many of us look to lists by people like Rene Loux, for example, or other entities that help determine which

Hi Island girl! Why do you freeze the kale? I just put mine in the smoothie straight from the fridge. (However, more to the original poster, I love those greens raw, too.... you'll develop a taste for them, I'm sure!)

Hi - I'm wondering if anyone has made any of the ice cream recipes that say to "place the ingredients in an ice cream maker and freeze according to maunfacturer's instructions...." but just placed it in the regular ol freezer instead? Would that work? I could just try it I guess. If not, can you recommend a brand for this appliance? I have no clue! Thanks in advance! Peony

Hi - I am returning to this board after a long absence... getting back on the raw wagon, as they say. I just got this book and I think it shows promise. I've only tried the Thai slaw so far but really love it. I added juliened snow peas and red pepper to the mix. If you plan on storing it for a day or two I would not dress it. Just store the dressing and the slaw separately. One thing I love to d
