Lisag2: I've found raw buckwheat at the Orlean's Wholefoods Store (It's not part of the regular Wholefoods chain). Anyone going to the Waltham potluck on the 13th? Or the Quincy one on the 27th?

I need a place to live. It would be most economically viable for me to stay within 100 miles of Boston, but I'm open to change. Please contact me with any opportunities you may have. Thanks!

The problem I'm having with not eating cooked food is this: sometimes I get caught without any organic raw food around. And I know that whatever I eat, I will end up with a headache and other sicknesses. So, I think if I'm going to pay for it anyway, I may as well be really bad and have my former favorite food: pizza. I was having HUGE pre-menstrual cheese cravings this past week. I had the

The typical one I get is what do you do for protein. They just don't understand (and don't want to hear) that you can get protein from sources other than meat.

P.S. I haven't seen them in the Store, but it loks like the Cranberry ones are 100% raw too. YEAH! VARIETY! At least a little.

I first bought the Larabars ebcause I needed some easy to carry food that didn't need to be refridgeration. I missed the fact that they are NOT ORGANIC when I bought them. Next I tried Prana bars. They are organic, but are not 100% raw. I'm eating the apricot pumpkin seed ones that are 77% raw. Finally I found one 100% raw and organic bar. I'm very happy, although I wish I could find mo

I am having difficulty with this as well, only they aren't harmless questions. A lot of people start arguing with me and tellign me how unhealthy it is; I am. It's getting really annoying.

Emily, I am an artist at Out of the Blue Art Gallery in Central SQ. and I volunteer there a few times a week. I usually run into the Whole Foods across the street at least once a day, when I'm there.

Hi shep252! Where are you from? The difference between vegans and vegeterians is that vegeterians will eat animal products such as cheese and eggs. Vegan will not eat anything with animal protein.

Hey there! I'm just south of Boston. My boyfriend's parents live on cape cod, so we go there to visit now and then. There's not much raw going on around here. Maybe we can all change that. rawinjp is going to start hosting soem potlucks, but that's a hike for you.

I do soak my nuts and seeds. However, they are only a small portiion of my diet and I really belive that it's too much nuts, seeds, and grain that caused your problem. You really want to focus on wet foods such as fruits and veggies. Green leafy veggies should be the predominant food (I'm having trouble with that, though. I love my fruit!).

Skip bananas, carrots, and beets. They are hybrid foods and very high in sugar. I think my Candida is in check now. I haven't had any symptoms since my first month of being raw (February). I was (sort of) following David Wolfe's Beauty Diet at first. I am now on his Sunfood Diet. I am still eating more sweet fruits than I should, but I have no signs of Candida (I'm just too skinny).

I agree with most of this, except the fruit and fats. These can be combined, depending on the person (as long as the fruit is not melon). It is also important to know that a lot of the foods we consider veggies, are actually fruits (ie tomoatos, cucumbers, bell peppers, squash). General rule of thumb is if it's got seeds, it's a fruit!

Yeah it's normal to loose a lot of weight on the raw diet. 4 of us went raw at the same time and we all lost a lot of weight. Unfortunately for me, I am 31, 5'6" and am now down to 105! According to David Wolfe's Sunfood Diet Success System, to gian weight you should eat only 16% sweet fruits and balance the rest of your diet with greens and fats. Since I read this, I've been trying, b

Yup, that about covers it. Boston just isn't the best place to be a raw vegan. I need to either find some other raw vegans to help change that . . . or move.
