I get sad when I see how expensive things are. Raw cacao powder, for example, and raw honey. They're just so much more expensive than their cooked counterparts and I just can't afford them! But that's because there's more demand for the cooked stuff so they can produce it cheaply. I hope people who have the money keep buying, that the raw lifestyle will spread and that one day it'll be less expen

Durian definitely has an aftertaste of garlic/onions. When I last had some, I brushed my teeth for hours and I still had the taste in my mouth. Apparently if you pour water into the shell and rinse your mouth with that afterwards it takes away the odor.

Yes, I think that's true. I'm the queen of self-sabotage. But it's difficult to rise above that.

My mother keeps cooking me food. I think raw food will have to wait until I leave in 2 weeks. I wouldn't like to upset her - she shows her love through her cooking! When I became a vegan she cried for months.

I just ate a bowl of cereal and some chocolate. I don't know what possessed me. I don't even like cereal and the chocolate was horrible. What am I like?

I always blend carrots, and I've never had a problem with it. I just chop them up roughly, bung them in with other fruits and veggies and some juice/water and blend. I've only used the cheapest of blenders and it's been fine.

I had a wheatgrass smoothie in Singapore - they just blended the grass (unjuiced) with some fruits. Is this ok to do, or it there something bad in the grass that doesn't come out in the juice?

Me too - well, in Oxford. Anyone in the UK who has an old juicer or blender to give away?

Oh my life! I was wondering why everyone had suddenly started to stink this year. I can't work in my Bible college's computer room in the afternoons - I walk in and the smell hits me like a wall. Lectures can also be pretty bad. This is all very inconvenient and makes me want to cut off my nose. There was definitely a big difference in all my senses when I went raw, come to think of it. Wel

Yes, I was surprised about the tiny amounts some people are eating. Makes me look at my own diet and feel like such a glutton! I eat constantly.

The sneaky chef! Hmmm, maybe my mother has a copy of that hidden somewhere. Last Christmas, she gave me turkey soup and told me it was 100% vegan vegetable soup. Then I found bones in it, and it was confirmed by all the guests that it was, indeed, turkey. With my brother, it was about branded products. For example, my brother used to insist on Flora margarine, so my mother would buy cheap stuff a

Yes, I think the social side is important. Politeness, appreciation, fun . . . sometimes these don't go hand-in-hand with being an 100%er. One should do as much for one's own health as possible, but not alienate other people in the process, I don't think. For me, it would kill me not to be able to eat any of the food when I travel to other countries. Food is so much part of a culture - it's d

Crinkle cut edam cheese in milky tea. Individually, these were the favourite foods of my friend and I - so we thought it would be nice to combine the two. We thought that cutting the cheese with a crinkle cutter made it taste better. My mother thought that all children needed to eat liver, but my brother and I hated it. So she used to blend it up in her pancake mix and produce these horrible,

Thanks so much everyone! One of my problems is that I'm an all or nothing person - if I can't do things perfectly, I don't do them at all. Which, unless you're a heart surgeon or something, is bad news. Everyone knows me as a health freak and I'm always telling people what they should be eating, but I don't follow my own advice. True, I haven't had any meat or milk since I was 18 (4 years a

Dear raw people, I was raw for a month or so - from February to March this year. It was amazing. I had so much energy, my skin cleared up a little and I didn't need nearly as much sleep. Then I had to organise this event. I did the cooking for it and was present throughout the evening without eating a thing. I brought the leftovers home with me at around midnight. But by that time I was ti
