Feeding a dog a "vegetarian" or "vegan" diet is cruel and unnatural. If you have a problem with hormone infested animals or caged animals then spend the extra money on organic/free range meats. If you eat a raw, natural diet for you, why can't your dog? If you're an animal person, you shouldn't have any problem accepting that in the wild, they hunt and kill "prey anim

I brought my Greenstar downstairs to clean as I normally do every now and then when it's really messy. The sink downstairs has a sprayer but it's not a conveient spot to juice. I gave it a good cleaning even on the outside of the juicer. Then as I carried it back upstairs and I heard a crack and felt it slipping so I carried it down the rest of the stairs with 2 hands. Where the front of the hand

Yeah when I juice them the pulp is too wet and when I blend them the skin seems too thick. I figured I'm using the wrong kinds of apples. If I blend or juice I don't care which I use..just want to get the most out of it. I save my favorite kinds for eating. lol

Hi, Yeah for juicing wheatgrass and vegetables go with the Twin Gear Green Star or Kempo type juicer. For blenders.. Seems to be a tie between the Vitamix and Total Blender. I think the Vitamix is more popular just because it's been around longer. RawGuru has a comparison chart on his site and if you do some google searches you should easily find some videos on each blender..

Same here. I'm not comfortable with such little protein and there's no way I could afford or do 2,000 calories worth of fruit considering my options are limited this time of year to mostly apples and bannanas. So "supplementing" is the only way I could possibly make it. I sometimes use these: You can find "sample packs" for like $1 at health food stores. I think even Who

If it's something rawgetarian whatever his name is.. Ignore him like most of us do. He lacks credibility. You can probably find more info about them on here: Personally I think if it were "toxic" in anyway, my animals wouldn't eat them. They have plenty of choices and the buckwheat groats get eaten just as fast as everything else.

Ive been looking at the usual sites and they all ship via UPS so its like $8-$10 to ship even just 1lb of seeds which would bring it to like $15 for 1lb of seeds. Crazy. Even at sproutpeople.com Mostly looking for buckhweat groats and maybe millet.

I don't know. I think it's more about nutrient and quality of food rather than amount of calories... Figuring I know cooked people who can eat a whole pint of Ben&Jerry's icecream which is 1,200 calories.. And still not be "satisfied" and eat another couple thousand calories throughout the day.. But can get that satisfied, full feeling from a 300 calorie fruit smoothie. I've never e

I don't know but after just growing wheat grass for the first time and it being so freaking easy...had grass within days. I really don't see the point in using powdered.

Juice them because blended greens can taste disgusting. If you're using a high quality juicer like the Green Star, there's not enough nutrients left int he pulp to matter. What you mostly miss out on is the fiber which is easy to get by just eating fruit and at least eating some vegetables like a salad a day.

I basically agree with RawDev. If you're going to eat them at least sprout them. I mostly eat millet just because it's so cheap and easy to sprout. It's "healthy" but I don't think it's "natural" for humans..Figuring I can buy organic millet in bulk for .49lb and throw it outside and the birds go crazy pecking at it. I can't picture a bunch of humans running to a pile of oa

lol what blender do you have? It takes me 1 minute to wash my blender. I rinse it out with water, add some soap, high speed it for few seconds, dump and rinse again. I don't bother taking it apart. If food got stuck somewhere, soapy water would get there too. Um have you checked this site for info?

For like a year I kept reading about people having problems with it which turned me off from trying it. But I finally tried it. Sprouted them for a couple days untill I had about a good inch of sprout which came within 2-3days. Then I finally planted some last night and now tonight I have a few grass coming up. Then I have some growing in the sprouter.. I just left them there because I hadnow

The typical American diet of fast food, proccessed food, hardly any fruits or vegetables except what comes in their Big Macs or Subway sandwhiches. etc. I know there are some people that aren't "raw" and believe certain ways of cooking vegetables is "healthy" (well, sure steamed veggies is better than fried with butter..). They don't eat cookies, fast food, soda, know the b

What's the point of food combining anyway if you don't have digestion issues and do fine with the "bad combos" ? You still get the nutrients.. If I didn't mix a handful of spinach or romaine with my bananna, strawberry, +whateverfruit smoothies.. I'd be getting less greens in each day.

I think overall I have always been a fruit person. When I was a kid we had blueberry bushes and apple trees so I was always picking at them and that was even on SAD. I liked drinking fruit juices and berry flavors always appealed to me. It's hard to really say because my choices were limited, I was a picky eater and still don't like certain fruits. I only make myself eat a bannana when I don't ha

I tried the peanut butter cups and they were awesome. Better than a Reese (not that I've had one recently) too. I liked it better than the Coconut Joy bars from Raw Bakery although those are also really good..just not as chocolate-y.

Are these raw? Do they usually have added ingredients? I was looking at WholeFoods online specials this week and a 10oz bag of organic frozen berries is $1.99lb .. which is better than $5+ for a small pint of fresh organic berries. What's the difference if I froze them myself or bought them frozen to throw in smoothies.. Edit- Sorry this was probably wrong forum.

When I was first researching juicers I knew that the Champion was the one I definitley didn't want. I kept reading how much of a pain it is and how it's not even that good at juicing leafy greens. I went with the GreenStar which you don't want..it's the same pulp out the end and awkward juicing with the rectangle shape and isn't fun to clean. I agree with the others that one of the Omegas is p
