Hi. I am curious about people who have been raw for a long time and are finding they are thriving on the diet. If this is you, what does a typical days diet include for you? Thank you very much!!! I look forward to reading the varying responses.

The problem when discussing typical raw diets is that there are essentially two main camps: 1) Eat anything as long as it isn't cooked (usually high fat). 2) Low fat. In other words high fruit, or 80/10/10. I am of the belief that the later is the superior diet to which human beings are physiologically designed for, but making such a statement only opens up a can of worms, so I'll be hum

Thanks so much Kwan!! It's a really interesting situation I am in; convinced she is my soul mate, and yet we met online and have not met in person yet! Ah, love, sweet love ;-)

First off, this is not a scam, I'm a raw foodie just like all the rest of you ;-) All I want to do is send an online e-card to the girl who I have fallen in love with, but I live in Canada, and Hallmark's store won't let me send a specific card from a Canadian billing address. BAH!! The card costs a mere $1.00. I am of course not asking for your credit card info, but if someone would be so

Sometimes I think people overdo it in terms of dental hygiene. And I'm not just regurgitating what D. Graham states in 80/10/10, but off personal experience as well. I've never really flossed that much, and for a period in my late teens didn't even brush my teeth at all. I've never had a single cavity in my life, and though I haven't visited a dentist in some time, all signs seem to indicate my t

No worries, I wasn't criticizing and didn't read the posts anyways. They just seemed off topic which was why I made the statement I made

Back on topic, What places specifically in California would be good to live. I'd rather not live in a huge city, but not some obscure small town either. If I move I would be going alone, so looking to find employment and like minded people into conscious living/raw foods. Thx

Yep. Ironically protein is one of the least of your worries when doing raw properly. As long as you eat enough food in general you should be getting enough protein.

It's really hard to swim properly in drysuits anyways. They aren't as bad once your submerged in the water, but on the surface, not so much. Yeah, chlorinated pools are a joke.

I'm going to go buy some cauliflower tomorrow! I rarely think about getting it, as it is not available in my organic market or organic section of grocery store, but I will have to buy some anyways. Just for a change. I agree that it has a nice texture to it.

What are some of the better places to live on continental US for eating raw foods and living a conscious lifestyle? Likely one day I will make my way down south, and would like to start considering options. Thanks.

Hi everyone, I recently went %100 raw, after having tried and failed once last fall. I really don't intend to go back to cooked food ever at this point, I'm sure many of you understand. That said, I am doing 80/10/10 and finding the much larger quantities of fruit I am eating now to be very expensive compared to my prior cooked vegan fare. I also can't get everything organic because I live

Right, thanks for the post anaken! Sometimes I get carried away with my ideas, and had a ton of bananas I was waiting to eat as brown as possible. As you say, I had to throw out about 20 or so because the entire banana turned to transparent mush. LOL. yuck. I think I've found the 'sweet spot', so to speak, but I wanted to try eating them even browner because I always hear how people always

So do a lot of you eat REALLY brown bananas? I know many people like to really wait on their bananas before eating, and I agree, but this time around I have a bunch of extremely brown bananas and I can't seem to eat them without a vomit response. They seem to have digested themselves. I guess they are toooo brown Blargh, I had a bunch of them too (I have about 40 bananas on my kitchen ta

Borax is all natural, but it can be an irritant, and wouldn't be my first choice as a cleaner. I don't really know, maybe you could find a suggestion on this website that would help: I just use storebought natural laundry detergent myself. Something like this from 7th Generation might work well:

I would go to Gabriel Cousin's Tree of Life Center, for no other reason than I am most familiar with it. Which is probably not a very good reason :-)

Although I agree with all previous posters, I don't think people quite realize how much chlorine is already in unfiltered drinking/bathing water. Seriously, nobody should be showering under un-filtered municiple water, yet basically everyone is! Get a shower filter people, your body, hair, and skin will thank you! Here is a little video that some of you might find interesting (kind of long):

I think that a large part of the raw food diet involves understanding your spiritual connection with the universe, otherwise, if you are only doing it for health you can still eat food that has been cooked with health in mind and survive very well on that. When I sit down with REAL food, like fresh fruit straight from the earth, I feel a wonderful joy sweeping through my body that I cannot even d

I was looking at the counter top model as well pippen. It looked good to me, but I didn't like the idea of having a hose running from my faucet aerator to a small filtration box on the counter. The self contained units that attatch to your aerator like you already own seem a little better to me, if you can't do the under the counter option. The Aquasana filters do filter out more contaminants

I'd say it's the least of concerns for a vegetarian/vegan. In fact I would prefer getting my Vitamin A from beta-carotene if I had the choice, as pre-formed Vitamin A can cause a variety of problems in larger doses
