just saw this earlier . very inspiring. and haven't seen this yet as it takes ages to load but it looks positive. I also just wanted to say that I've been raw 10 months now, and its frekin' awesome! It takes a while to get into it but lately food and eating have become an almost sacred experience. I eat banannas that taste of liquorice, tomatoes that have a smoked flavour, avocado

>>>I also think that I am grateful for being able to feel this way... with my whole heart and being. There have been more times than I can count where I have not felt this way at all and it would have been an outright lie to have said that I felt grateful for anything. But being in this state.. not forced.. but simply and naturally is also a gift that I am grateful for. I think that it t

Well, I got mine yesterday and went for a run with them today. I wore them around the house yesterday and they felt rather comfortable if a little cold! I felt like a cougar.I was padding around rather than walking. Running on them today was altogether different. It was on a road and when I would step on small stones I would know all about it! Its ok if your walking on rocky terrain but running o

I had this saved from the secret newsletter. Nothing new here I think but worth sharing maybe. Thanks for posting this thread too. Its a very good reminder. Maybe we can have a gratitude thread somewhere on the forum where we can write down things we are greatful for and remind ourselves of the important things in life daily. I'm probably the wrong person to give advice as I've never really studied any books etc on the raw diet but what I do is just listen to my body. I never really let myself get hungry. If I had just had a salad a half hour ago and was still feeling hungry , I would eat a bannana and a couple of apples or maybe more. I don't really watch my food combinations but its generally fruit in the morning,ei

Hi isobel. I had some hives lately. They were annoying and irritating and wouldn't go away! I had some essential oil/aromotherapy oil in the house- lavander which is often used for insect bites. I mixed it up with a little oil as you can't apply it directly and applied it to each hive. A few days of this and they had all disappeared.

one more point jmaki and thats this website... I have absolutely no experience of it but read about it on this thread and thought it sounded very interesting. Its obviously difficult to explore cutting edge things like this with schizophrenia but may be at least worth talking to the guy that runs it.I am 90% sure that I read about a program where they ran it in an african school class of d

I shouldn't post this on here as it a bit too private but was going to mail you with my story jmaki to see if there could be any value in it for your son or anything worth exploring but may as well post here.. What I'll do is post my story thats a cut and paste from a past life forum where I shared it. I am in no way suggesting that past lives can cause schizophrenia in any way and my brother

Wow! Cool shoes! I had been thinking for a long while about modifying a pair of flip flops for running as intuitively I knew my runners were restricting me in some way. I didn't realize there was actually a logic behind it.Thanks for writing and sharing the article. I had to laugh at being called "a faker" by another barefooter. No wonder we have world wars!!!!lol I've found these l

Great books normally grip. Can't leave them down. This I must leave down. I read a passage or two. A chapter maybe and then I have to leave it down.To digest. To contemplate. So, its different from what I was expecting but yes, I am very happy to have found it and realized a long time ago that a single quote or line in a book that may otherwise not have interested can change a life and there are m

Hi Rose_or_Sharon. This part of the forum often gets unnoticed. Welcome anyway. Here's an interesting blog about a dude that had weight problems too until going on a raw food diet.

Maybe she could explore some essential oils(aromotherapy oils). I have been experimenting with them lately and whilst I react very quickly with most things...these are powerful. I've tried Frankincense today and am totally peaced out! But there are plenty others that deal with depression etc.. I think she should talk to a qualified aromotherapist though before trying them as they may not mix with

This could be a very rash recomendation Wheatgrass Yogi considering I've only just finished the introduction but I just know this is going to be one of the greatest books I've ever read. Talk about build it up!!!! Anyway, I just thought it may tie in with your purpose. Forgive me if I'm wrong! :-)

My purpose would be/ is to inspire, in an ideal world. I wouldn't like to be a motivational speaker or something as I am a behind the scenes kind of person..peek a boo! lol. But I've overcome a fair amount of adversity in my life and do think we can overcome anything and anything we can't overcome we can change the way we think about it and overcome it in that fashion. Thanks Tamukha, I will take your advice yet again! I am having a cool green smoothie as we speak. I get this cool organic kale and it works so much better than spinach. Such a nice flavour and my skin glows after it.Any reasons as to why you gave up grains? SuperInfinity, it seemed like common sense, getting a very high intake of nutrients etc in a way that was easier for our system to deal w

not juice? I saw this video earlier, and it got me feeling a little guilty about my diet as I've been raw since xmas and don't juice. I used to juice when eating a standard diet but just prefer eating raw food although I do green smoothies most days. My problem seems to be that I don't have enough space for a juice. I eat fruit for breakfast or a fruit/green smoothie at 5am ish and then hav

Well, I did it! Can't believe it really. This is my first morning in my new place, 5.30 am and just after breakfast. Its was easier than I thought to be honest. Tamhuka's advice to work "methodically and gradually" worked a treat and everything seemed to flow. Going to go back to bed for a few hours and then get up and explore some running trails as there plenty of walks near the hou

Thanks Tamukha.I love your story but its Ireland! That's some good advice too. I will have to definately take it on board and am going to start tonight! As many Cds,books, clothes that I can bear to part with are all going to a charity shop. I wonder how it will feel to really release some stuff, material things. I reckon they have a bigger hold on us than we think. My mother did a spring clean lat

You need to eat plenty, especially when you start this first or cooked food cravings may bother you occasionally! If your stuffed full of good raw food , your not going to be worried about Chinese or Indian foods or when you start thinking about them, go fill yourself up with something raw and it will pass. The big thing I've learned from going raw is that ,its not that hard.Don't tell yourself it

I've never had kale until today and its.....stronger than spinach? I've put a good lot in a smoothie with fruit so its easy to get into the system but was wondering which is better to use? Or just mix it up? The kale seems stronger, does that mean its better for you?
