"All packaged, bottled and canned juice is pasteurized. Always." This statement is incorrect. Whole Foods sells fresh squeezed juice in plastic containers. I contacted their corporate office twice and both times they told me that they cannot heat this juice or else they would not be able to call them fresh squeezed.

Does anyone have any suggestions for grinding sprouted grains without drying them first? Most mills get clogged with wet grains. Would a homogenizing juicer work? Do you think a masticating juicer like Champion or a twin gear juicer like Green Star would work better? Thanks for any suggestions...

You're in luck... They usually meet at this raw vegan cafe... I don't think they're having any meetups over the holidays. The meetups I've been to haven't been very moderated so if you want to meet people make sure to be outgoing or just show up later when people tend to mingle more. Cheers and best wishes on your journey!

Which do you think is more healthy? Raw wheat bread dehyrated at 100 degrees for 12 hours or cooked sweet potato lightly steamed for 10 minutes?

I didn't know collapsible bowls existed a week ago so I'm posting links here in case anyone else finds them as useful as I have... Bowl Colander I use a glass bowl and a metal colander at home but they are too fragile and too big for my suitcase. These collapsible bowls worked well on a trip I took last week. I haven't used them for long though so I don't know how durable they are over

You can get the same product directly from Tomberlies for $124... Note that half of the price goes to the overnight shipping that is required to keep the ice cream from melting.

There's a raw food meetup group for Jacksonville (). They usually meet at the Present Moment Cafe in Saint Augustine (). I live in Orlando but I drive up for their dinner socials when I can. They're a fun group of people and the cafe is awesome. Check it out!

I had the exact same reaction when I made raw nori sushi. The jicama "rice" I made was good and the veggies were good but the nori was too fishy for me.

My mom made eggs and toast for breakfast when I was a kid. I would put grape jelly on the toast and then I would fold the toast around the eggs for an egg and grape jelly sandwich.

Another example is buckwheat greens. High quantities can induce sensitivity to sunlight. If you were to eliminate all of the foods that have ever been associated with some sort of negative effect then you would starve. Humans have a tendency to intellectualize the world into little boxes that are labeled "good" and "bad". We seek the perfect food that is singularly suffi

Does anyone here use any commerical shampoos or soaps that they would recommend? I've seen the following organic and vegan brands in stores... Aubrey Avalon Giovanni Jason Nature's Gate The simpler and more natural the better. I've considered just using organic castille soap but I'm not sure if this would be good on hair. Has anyone tried that?

I picked up some raw essene bread from my local grocery store... ...and it tasted pretty good. I tried the plain version with no seasonings. Note that it was dehydrated to the point that it was more like a cracker than a loaf of bread. Was it the extra dehydration that affected the flavor or could I do something else in my process to improve flavor? I'm not really interested in adding

Yes. I rinsed my sprouts once in the morning and once at night. Let me know how the other grains taste to you. I am interested to hear which ones you try and which one you like the most. Maybe there is something different in your process that makes them more palatable. Or maybe it's a subjective thing and I'm just not suited for grain consumption.

I recently sprouted, ground, and dehydrated several different types of grains to make raw bread. Here is my opinion on each grain... Amaranth - Very Bitter - Inedible Barley - Bland - Edible Buckwheat - Bland - Edible Millet - Very Bitter - Inedible Quinoa - Very Bitter - Inedible Wheat - Slightly Bitter - Edible The very bitter grains were simply inedible in my opinion. I could see

The important issue here is electrolyte balancing. Cells require a sodium to potassium ratio of approximately 1 to 3. The average recommendated intake ratio is actually 1 to 5. Most people on a standard diet sustain a ratio of 2 to 1. The kidneys respond to this imbalance by flushing excess sodium out through the urine. This is why dehydration can occur. High blood pressure can also be a

Listening to the body's ability to adapt is a great point. Usually this is applied through a recommendation to transition gradually towards your end goal. However, I would also consider the issue of adaptation in light of balancing your end goal. If it takes a long time to adapt to an extreme end goal then it will take a long time to adapt back. You could gradually adapt to an all-liquid diet
