greenie, sorry for this late answer. I got the vertical one. The other was way much too costly ( almost twice as much) It looks cheap though but is quite sturdy - my son loves to make raw veggie garnish with it. love, Cynthia

when I was about 3 ou 4, I remember sitting in the grass with soda crackers and eating them with green grass leaves - soooo good !! Love Cynthia also : a common snack from my preteen age was wild cherries in brine ( pick the cherries and let stand about an hour in salted water so they are not so tart !!!! )

hello, I'm Cynthia. I followed this forum since a few months and I 'm enjoying very much all the posts coming from all of you... I decided to start posting just 10 days ago. I live in the country with my two kids. Vegetarian since many years, I try the raw diet for the first time a year and half ago ( during three weeks) after reading a book about it. I realize that I gravitate more and more ar

Brian, thank you so must for posting Graham's article - it is just what I needed !! '' '' Three weeks all raw '' was the longest stretch of time I was able to do because I became so emaciated (being already thin) that I got REALLY scared. Looking unhealthy too ,although working a lot outside and gardening in my spare tine. I was feeling great though... Since that time, more than a year ago

taylor, this MC is a strange thing. I tried it last fall but was not able to do more than 5 days. everything was ok at first , then I had a bad feed-back because of all that sugar - I changed for the molasse but it did not help... I gave up...I was kind of intolerant - exactly same body sensitivity I got when I took antibiotic years ago... Too bad for me. sending you blessings for tomorrow -

dear rawrnr, I followed your posts and I think you're so courageous, you have big will power and you don't realize it - you are an inspiration for me. I'm canadian too, living not far from Montreal. Soooo..it is veeeeery cold these days...minus 24 this morning. I'm always cold, having some tea (herbal for me) is a good thing to overcome the winter here. Only maybe 70-75% raw but your journal p

greenie, thank you for your kind answer, I appreciate it very much. I know about the digestive fire, agni, the doshas, etc - and of course, good or bad, it all depends of so many things... But in that particular case, it was not a statement linked to a particular problem, but rather one of a very few guidelines (eleven of them) pertaining to the way of eating meals, in general. I was wandering,

i found the following saying in an ayurveda book (by Gerard Edde) : ''......grains soaked all night and sprouted, as well as leafy greens are not good and should be taken (eaten) in moderation.'' Anyone would have some explanation to that ? Is it from the point of view of energy in the body ? or something else ? I thought these foods were very good ... I would be glad to hear your

abour water intake, my experience is the same as Brian's. I don't need any with 100% fresh, living food. I don't get thirsty at all (except when working outside in the summer). And I remember Ayur Veda says one should never force oneself into drinking when not thirsty. It is supposed to be harmful. It is best to follow the body's needs rather than the mind. Cynthia

Can someone be 50 % carnivore ? or 75 % vegetarian or vegan ? All that is in our mind, nowhere else... the same for crudivorism. This way to talk about our diet express only our desire toward a goal , what we think is The best. And, hearing all those experiences of other people, we wish we are there too, at the top - so our way to speak about it. I agree about eating daily a large amount of fr

Bryan, thank you for the links (old threads). I'm following this forum since many months although I post only once ( to say to Uti how much his story has touched me - it made me cry ... ). In the beginning, instead of posting questions, I was used to visit the former threads available (being from the french canadian countryside, maybe I was not so confident with my english ...). So, your initi
