Yum! I really want some melon. I love it when they are soft and warm from the sun...with the seeds a bit slimy. They are so juicy and sweet like that! I hope there is melon at the co-op this weekend! I've been waiting patiently for it, but I might just have to jump up and down crying if they don't have it this week. :-P Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXOXO

Ooh! Richard, I hope you'll show them in one of your next videos!! I'd love to see them in a video, notice how they fit when a person is walking, and hear more thoughts about them! I told my daughter about them, since she detests wearing shoes, but we are wondering if they'll fit her well. She has wide feet, with toes that spread out (which is probably because she has healthier feet than I do,

Nik, I think getting a good therapist is a great idea. For me, therapy has helped with the mental imbalances that were caused from PTSD that began at age four, and raw has helped with the chemical imbalances! I think they work great together. We are complex beings and it makes sense that we need to work on all aspects of ourselves (body, mind, spirit, emotions) to truly gain balance and health

I love bare feet! Whenever I dance I must have bare feet. There's just no other way to groove! We have a neighbor who complains that we don't keep shoes on our daughter. Well, she doesn't complain much anymore, but when our daughter was very young the woman wouldn't leave us alone about it. My daughter goes outside in the snow with bare feet and gets upset when I tell her to put socks and

I was completely in love with young coconuts when I was transitioning and then my first months 100% raw. I was physically filled with excitement every time I'd pick up my new case of coconuts--I actually felt giddy like a child! I consumed them every day, but I didn't have the oil every day. My cholesterol went from extremely unhealthy to healthy within one month on the coconuts! I was totall

I agree with WY...just keep following your instinct until you find that you are living the way that feels right and healthy for your body. Personally, I wanted scientific proof that I was doing well for my body, so I have been getting bloodwork done every so often. I'm currently experimenting with less fat and more fruit. I was very high fat for my entire transitioning into raw and more than

Phantom, I just laughed so hard the cats freaked out. ROFL Thanks for the sweet comments, la_veronique and veggiefreak! :-D Sorry the timing won't work for you, veggiefrak. It wasn't meant to be, then. ;-) The ashram is always there, however, for anyone to visit. Just let Leela Mata know that I sent you and you prefer to eat raw foods, and she'll surely save a space in the fridge and kitc

I'm slowly working toward living like that. My husband is very attached to "modern" living and it takes a lot of baby steps to get him to a place of understanding and then believing that many times the traditional ways of thinking/living aren't actually the best. We're headed to California for some much needed sunshine and fresh air, and he is finally convinced that it will be fun to

I've had times when I just lurk, and times when I post more often. But, I'm not sure about the others. Suvine still visits sometimes, as does Simple Living, I think. This is the place I've stayed with the longest. I also like GiveItToMeRaw and Twitter for keeping up with other raw foodists I know. For an actual forum for help and advice, this one is my favorite. ;-) Lots of love to you,

Hi Phantom, I love hearing that it's affordable for so many people. That was our main goal, other than having a place for people to get away. We actually have a second retreat scheduled closer to the end of the year, but it probably won't be taking place. My family and I have decided to move, and we are relocating to California. We're actually thinking of going cross-country in an RV (!!). We

Thanks, bebeautiful and claire! :-) Veggiefreak, I didn't check my weight very often, but I'm pretty sure I'm only two pounds lighter. This leads me to believe that I either don't consume enough calories on a normal/daily basis or I am retaining some weight because my period should be starting soon. I'm not disappointed at all, since I didn't go into the experience with a weight loss in

Alena, I have planned a raw food spiritual retreat at an ashram near Pittsburgh, PA. It's going to be very peaceful, but there will be some optional programs (yoga, meditation, raw food info, etc.) for those attending. It's scheduled for the end of May. Here's a link if you are interested in finding out more about it: The ashram and I have done everything possible to keep the cost as

I don't have a problem with the urgency, but I noticed since I've been 100% raw that I usually have to urinate about fifteen minutes after eating each meal. Can you possibly use the bathroom not long after each meal and see if that helps? Maybe like someone pointed out, you aren't experiencing the need to urinate until it's too late? Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXOXO

Thanks so much, rost0037, neffkimberly, veggiefreak, and hemp0la! If anyone else decides to do a mono meal adventure, I hope you'll share it with all of us! ;-) Here's my latest update. I'll post one more after my gourmet meal this evening, and then I'll consider this experience completed. Thanks, again, for all the comments and support! Lots of love to all of you, Wendi XOXOXO -

Thanks, Utopian Life and be beautiful. I have an exciting update.... ------------- 6:11pm I’ve eaten about one third of the apples and I just don’t want the rest of them. I’ll eat them, though, so that I am not going to sleep hungry this evening. I wonder what it means that I am having a difficult time during this last 24 hours? UGH! I just want it to be over with. I think if I ha

I'm on my final mono meal item: apples. ----------- April 14, 2008 Today I have even more energy. My tongue is coated more, however. It’s not horrible, but it’s definitely less red and more of a light pink. My eyes have continued to feel dry and my eyelids are heavy. What causes that, I wonder? My nails are whiter and harder, but they still break and rip when I’m working around the ho

dancerinthenight, what's wrong with low white blood count? I thought that was supposed to be a good thing, meaning your body isn't fighting anything off? How did you feel after being there? Lots of love to you, Wendi XOXOXO

toobloated, You've stumbled across a great place and a truly amazing way to eat! If you have time, go to the search engine and look up candida. There have been many discussions about it over the years. As for how you can consume fruits and veggies and not have a problem with candida, from what I've read you can eat a lot of fruit as long as you don't have a lot of fat in your bloodstream.

Well, it's another long post. Sorry about that. ------------ April 13, 2008 I noticed that since I’ve been eating only mono meals, I seem to be consistently sleeping eight hours a night, as opposed to nine, or more. It’s a dreary day today, yet I don’t feel like I’m tired or down, which is how I normally feel when there’s not enough sunshine. 11:00am All I have to mono eat tod

veggiefreak, that sounds really strange! I'll have to remember to check that out on the Net to see what it's all about. maui_butterfly, I think I'm just going to not worry about it until the 9 days are over. Maybe I'll plan an iron-rich day, or two, following the mono meals to help just in case I am even lower with my stores of iron. Thanks for the good luck! Lots of love to all of you,

I forgot to post the update yesteray...here it is: April 12, 2008 Today we are doing some Spring cleaning and getting rid of stuff that has been collecting that we don’t really need or use. I just finished the bananas (eight of them) and later I’ll start eating the oranges that we have. I have plenty of oranges to get me through the day and into tomorrow until we go shopping. I’m hopefu

Thanks, Utopian Life and EZ Rider. I'm doing a special 9-day mono meal thing right now, so I'm not interested in raisins (but I do like them when I'm not doing this). I do get a great variety in my normal raw diet, it's just right now while I'm doing this special 9 days that I was concerned about the iron. ;-) Bryan, You may be right, especially since I'm not feeling tired!! Hey everyone, I'm doing nine days of mono meals and I'm running low on my already low stores of iron. I know this because my gums are getting very light (as well as the insides of my eyelids). It's not extremely low, since I do have energy and I'm not having difficulty with oxygen while breathing. According to Cron-o-meter, I am averaging about 4mg per day. Anyway, I don't want to stop my

I think fear isn't going to help the matter. It just has us sitting here waiting for something awful to happen. I, for one, am moving to an area where I can grow my own organic produce. I refuse to buy anything that has been tampered with. If we all refuse to buy what isn't really food in its natural state anymore, maybe it will make a big enough impact on the economy and "they'll"
