I heard that most fruits ripen under the tree and therefore are shade ripened rather than in direct sunlight.

I was going to write something similar to this. I have a 16 ounce green smoothie and I am full until midday. Then I have a large salad and I am not hungry until evening. At that time I have another 16 ounce green smoothie. I am not getting more than 600-800 calories a day. I want to keep my metabolism up and I think that I should have more food but I'm just not hungry. I used to just eat because

"The Tonsils, and Appendix, both serve useful purposes. The Tonsils act as Filters, and the Appendix secretes fluid to aid digestion. We don't need them to survive, but we survive better with them......WY" Never heard of the appendix secreting anything. I have heard of it possibly being part of the lymphatic system. It has rich blood supply but it's not really glandular.

I find it quite disturbing that there is such a fruit camp -vs- a vegetable/leafy green camp.

I can relate to this blog from him. It's similar to the reason that I have fallen off the raw wagon in the past. Even after working a 14-15 hour day I would come home and have too much energy. I would be able to gear down. Eventually I would have some sort of cooked snack and get all lethargic.

Fresh apple juice as the liquid to assist blending with black berries, raspberries and blueberries. I blend half the berries well (about a cup and a half) and the second half is only pulsed so it's still chunky. I add about 6 tablespoons of chia, mix not blend, and let it sit in the fridge for at least a half hour before eating. It's great over banana icecream. I occasionally make buckwheat-flax

It's kind of difficult sometimes. I work in a hospital and most people that I work with eat so unhealthy. I get comments every day and usually I handle it with just a slight smile and a "It's good." That being said, just made my first oppositional comment in six months. I drink a fruit smoothie every morning when I get to work, then for lunch a green smoothie. I sat down in the cafeteri

You're welcome. I usually have so much fruit around that they continually come from something. I like my fruit room temp, my dining table looks like a frugivore buffet, so it's very hard to eliminate the source. Actually the counters usually have produce across it as well ... something is always ripening.

I don't kill fruit flies. I think: 1) they are cute and 2) they help with decomposition I trap them and let them go outside. I take a wedge of spent lemon and I put it in a ziplock to use as bait. When the little guys accumulate I sneak up and zip the bag closed. They seem to like lemon more than anything else I have tried thus far. The trap is a standard on my unused kitchen range throu

I try and shoo them away to the best of my ability ... if they are shooable. Some things like horseflies just don't listen to reason ... they have to be done away with sometimes. I try and be as nice as possible but when there is no real choice ... I do what I have to do.

Chia tastes like nothing. It is a hydrophilic seed and gets quite gelatinous when exposed to fluids. I get organic seeds from a health food store near where I live. I eat them pretty much every day. I have to start getting larger bags from a better supplier. They are really high in calcium and iron ... I think that they have boron too. I make a great raw jam with them.

139. Re: SEX
I find that I have more of a sex drive when raw. I feel better in a multitude of ways. I find that I have a dislike of the artificial more now than ever. I never liked plastic surgery or heavy perfumes/colognes. I have never been one for make-up or anything like that but I have an increased love for very natural people. Raw sex is good sex ... everything is sweeter.

Thanks RawdancerUK I juiced 1 lb of carrots and some ginger. It was great but that's all I have wanted since I woke this a.m. Where do you get your spirulina? What green powders? I have been looking for a good source of spirulina. I was thinking of getting it from Frontier.

I have only been able to consume 437 kcals today. I am not hungry. I don't want to drink just because I'm supposed to. I have had a half gallon of juice and it's the end of the time I really want to be eating. What am I doing wrong?

great so far today. I had a bunch of spinach with celery, cucumber, ginger, lemon, and an apple. I think it was roughly 290 kcal. Made a quart and I still feel full. I have some concern with making sure I get enough nutrients but I started to use fitday to catalog what I consume. I think that I will shoot for thirty days and see where I go from there. I want to get a tray of wheatgrass for ju

The hardest thing for me is my attachment to my mother and the connection to the foods she has made. She has cancer and may die without a transplant. I am sicilian and they really don't understand raw vegetables. They like the fruit part but vegetables should be cooked. That and they don't believe that two big plates of salad and no meat can be a meal. The foods that I grew up eating makes me feel

Just and ammend. 15 cups of romaine lettuce = 118 calories and weighs in at 1 lb. It also gives almost 100% of your daily iron and 14 grams of protein along with other nutrients.

I stopped dating nonvegetarians. Life was much easier ... more enjoyable. Who a person chooses to share their life with is important. I guess I view meat eating in the same vein as drug or alcohol use ... not for me. I don't really like to be around all of that. I don't like the smell of meat or dairy, so eating with a nonvegetarian is a drag to me. I ended up marrying a beautiful vegetarian pers
