Hi all, Just bought my first ever Dulse through my Co-op. It is Maine Coast brand Certified Organic. Just a 4 oz. bag for starters this time. I haven't even opened the bag yet and no kidding, it smells AWFUL!!! Super super fishy. Never have been a fish person to begin with. I want to incorporate into my diet somehow, but am a little concerned that it will likely taste like it smells. Ick

All of the Tahini recipes that I found online had oil in them so was hoping that someone here has been successful making tahini without oil. I just bought some raw organic sesame seeds (approx 3-4 C.) Thanks all!

Though my strength is still quite weak, I had a much better day today as I did not have a migraine. Unfortunately, I've got one brewing right now. Confession time - So, yesterday I had an extreme craving for chocolate. Don't have that real often, but it was overwhelming. We were at Grocery Outlet and they had Organic Chocolate bars so I bought 2. Ate 1/3 of it, but wanted more. Then today

What is IIRC? I am supposed to avoid cruciferous veggies because of my hypothyroidism, so the collards or kale, unfortunately, would not work for me. I'm pretty limited with my greens. Thanks for the info.

Paul, Thank you. I had never heard a thing about the commercial stuff. Once my husband knew we were going to make our own, he went and grabbed a jar at the grocery store so that we could taste it and see what they put in theirs. I've been eating a couple tablespoons each day for 3 days now which I will immediately stop. Will tell him too. Thank you so much for bringing this to my attention.

Living Food, I wondered if that was you! Glad to "see" you again. After reading all that you told me, I was, in fact, very impressed by it but still very much in a research mode, working my way slowly, very slowly towards eating raw. I had desire long before I actually began implementing a raw diet. While I admire your commitment to what you eat, I am not ready to embrace spro

I'm still learning, but curious what you were juicing as carrot juice is supposed to be pretty high in potassium. Also, are you on any prescription meds? If so, that may play a part. Here's an interesting article that I just found that I guess I needed to know about too: Glad, now, that I switched to Sea Salt.

Just a guess per what I've read. Perhaps eliminate the apple unless you are using a very tart one. Maybe you're getting too much concentrated sugar without fiber all at one time. Carrots are plenty sweet on their own. If you make a savory juice as opposed to a sweet one, use a couple of stalks of celery which will give a nice saltiness. I use 1/2 lemon also (which some folks may disapprove

Ok John, I'm going to be honest with you. Because of my migraines and sort of "airheadedness" of late, I sincerely cannot digest and comprehend all that you wrote about the coffee enemas. I just simply don't have the brain power right now. Is there any way that you could explain this in a much simpler way? I'm talking mostly about the Art of Science and Art of Healing. I need layman's t

Sooo...are the jars that are not totally full with liquid probably bad now?? I was very weak yesterday and could not do anything and today migraine, so will have to toss them I guess if they are bad. Wish the instructions that I went by had been more thorough. There was juice from the full jars all over the counter again this morning too.

I belong to a Food Coop who buys from Azure Standard. Was just looking on their site for these things. There is a company called Maine Coast who claims to do sun drying at low temps. Anyone know anything about this company?? Thanks all for your feedback

Thanks PL! I do not have Hashimoto's so I actually tend to need more iodine, which I have not been getting much of at all, if any, since switching to sea salt and raw. How much would you say is good intake for me or even for the avg person on a raw diet? Thanks again!
