I just started taking a b-complex vitamin and feel good. It is water soluble so if you take too much it just turns your pee very yellow. No big deal. I think I was b2 (not b12) deficient as I had a sort of cut in the corner of my mouth that wouldn't heal. When you google that it says b2 deficiency! It got better right away. B12 deficiency can lead to dementia I thin, so best to deal with it. Good

I think it is ok to stuff yourself of greens to feel full if that helps your cravings. They have VERY few calories. Actually I would eat as much fruit and veggies as I wanted to. That is the beauty of the raw food diet. Go easy on oil, nuts, dried fruits, dates etc. however. Check in with yourself periodically to see how you are feeling, adjust as needed. Good luck!

Hello, I also sometimes get these. I get an aura, or lose some of my field of vision for 20 mins-1 hour or so, then have a sore head for a few days, and I feel that my vocabulary isn't as good during those days! Not fun. I think my triggers are emotional situations (good or bad), over exertion, and over-doing caffeine. The only external things that have helped me are homeopathy, acupuncture, and

Hi OkunDeji! How about trying to build some more muscles through strength training? I know for myself to even maintain my weight I need to exercise about an hour and a half about 5 days a week, including cardio and strength training. Muscle burns more calories than fat, so I think it could really help you lose the last few pounds. As a bonus, it can make you look great even before you lose any w

With the cheap blenders you need a LOT of liquid. Or, the celery might be too hard, how about a different recipe?

Well, I don't have any real information on this but I go to a regular dentist (student dentist really, very cheap), and it seems fine for me. You only use their products that one time, after that at home you can use your own natural stuff. I think its good to go to the dentist unless you are gifted with perfect teeth or follow a perfectly health diet for the pearly whites. I thought it was kind o

Maybe in some sort of fancy food court so if you went with friends you could get fruit and they could get maybe a juice and something else if they wanted. My friends rarely will go with me to the raw gourmet place with me, and they have such things as raw pizza, and lasagna. Whenever its my birthday or time to celebrate something I've done I always pick that place and everyone is always like &quo

I disagree with Joshya Lane, eating too much fruit is not bad. There is no such thing as eating too much fruit! Eat as much fruit as you want whenever you want. If you are hungry you can eat more. You don't need to control your hunger on a raw food diet. Also, salads are great for breakfast AND lunch. A super smoothie suggestion is a banana, strawberries, spinach, an orange, and/or whatever local

I think there have been other threads on this subject you could search for. It is indeed common and there are things you can do to improve it. Getting extra water, and making sure you get enough sodium. (Some will disagree with that last point I think). It will probably go away on its own too. Good luck!

At some stores I can get spring greens in bulk, at some I have to get them in these plastic bins. They make really good containers for bringing a salad to work! Also, at the co-op I go to they let me re-use the plastic containers at their salad bar. Does anyone know where I could get some glass containers with lids sort of this size and shape? I've seen those pyrex baking containers at Target

Fats are an easy way to get calories (snacking on raw nuts?). But if you want to stay with the fruit how about juice? Its soooooooo good.

Congratulations! I don't have it all figured out either, but keeping myself from getting too hungry sure helps. For some reason when I'm too hungry what I want to eat is never raw, its something really heavy. Keeping snacks around in case of emergency is very important. Also, if you are about to go off the wagon maybe make a deal with yourself that you will first eat one apple (or an apple and a

I think it will be easy and you will find lots of wonderful fruit at the markets for very cheap. I don't know about the seasons but you can find plenty of figs, prickly pears, pomegranate, guava, persimmon, and also all the fruits we find in USA. They drink a lot of mint tea, just hot water with fresh mint... even in the summer. Be careful though, best of luck!

Drinking juice is an easy way to get a lot of calories. Its often difficult to get enough calories eating raw food, especially at first. Your stomach needs to get used to eating a LOT of bulky roughage. And also, I think that all the fiber that you are eating prevents you from absorbing all the calories in the food. A lot of people here don't like to eat oils, but that is also of course a really

Me too! I've always had it, even when pretty young. I try to remember its the advertisers that want us to hate our bodies so we buy their stuff, by giving us all those air-brushed images. Its ok!

Are you taking garlic and or alcoholic drinks? Both of those things give me pain in my lower right side. It took me ages to find out what it was. Now its fine. I still don't know how that was connected...but I figure if it doesn't hurt I'm doing ok. I'm sorry you are in pain.

7th generation is a lot better than regular laundry soap, which to me is the worst of the worst chemicals in the home, for how it affects me. I don't know any other detergent that you could make that comes even close to cleaning as well as 7th generation or the other naturals of its ilk. I tried "soap nuts" and it didn't even get the stink out of the armpit of a shirt! You don't nee

I think your skin products might be too harsh or chemically. Try something really gentle and scent free, I like gamila soap, or dead sea warehouse magic salt soap. You can google either of those.

I am on the mailing list of the "ecopolitan" raw restaurant, and Dr T the owner of it sent out something about this skin procedure called Novadermy which he recommended and was even organizing a trip to Mexico to do it. He included a link to the website: I love the restaurant and the raw food message, and I can't understand how or why he could recommend this. It looks fishy to me, o

I think its just a tick. You must be stressed/bored? I get weird little things like that too. Actually, I've done exactly what you are talking about. I would just try to stop, do something else. Bounce your leg etc. Good luck!!

I am also interested to see how this works and wish you the best of luck! If it proves to not work out for you however, I was thinking that maybe a very regimented diet might work. What if, for example, you allowed yourself exactly one green smoothie for breakfast and this other meal? Whatever your cravings, mental issues, etc. couldn't change it: a strict routine? Or you could calculate a perfe

I would go here and e-mail them about the wild rice. This is also a very good group of folks, I think. Maybe you could convince them to sell you some rice the way you want it, if they don't have it now.

Sweets are also comforting, what gives you comfort? Maybe herbal tea? Knitting? It could be anything. Its not food and has no calories, so you can't really abuse it. You can do it as much as you want. Things that you can't abuse and are positive are the best "replacement" for addiction. If you can do it!

Hi Wendy, I am no expert for sure but I sure have problems losing weight too! I still need to lose more, but I am slowly doing it. Two things I know I need to do for it to work are to exercise 5-6 days a week, weight lifting and cardo. AND being sure that by the time I fall asleep I am hungry. It doesn't need to be every single day that I am hungry at night, but most of them. Then I slowly lose
