I also find that when I do 100 percent raw, I have to eat much more fat. Of course, I workout every day and was competitive athlete. I say "was" because my body needs to rebuild itself after so much detox. I find I do better on a 80 percent raw diet with some steamed gluten free grains (not rice though) and some lightly cooked veggies. Nuts and seeds as well as other fats seem to re

I loooove Whole Foods Half of my grocery budget goes there LOL. My friends call it "Whole Paycheck"--not nice, but funny A large grocery chain in my area has been carrying more organics, as well as more packaged organic foods...wild, huh?

I drink decaf organic coffee once per week...maybe 2 small cups. I put a drop of peppermint essential oil in my coffee cup...it's nirvana in a cup I'm 80-100 percent raw and have been for 19 months I don't get cravings any more really...other than for young Thai coconuts, but they are good for me

I also have Epstein Barr virus. I have to eat 10-20 percent of my diet cooked (carrots, potatoes, onions, as well as other warming foods) or else, my spleen gets very irritated from 100 percent raw. I just can't do it. This is what works for me. I also end up being very mucousy on 100 percent raw...I've been high raw for 19 months and really feel this is best for me. It's best to use your ow

Ugh...now I'm remembering why I stay away from raw message boards...So much energy of judgment here. I do 90-100 percent raw myself. I've been high raw for 19 months...I did 100 percent for a long time. When I eat the "toxic" (oh gawd) food that is cooked, I eat things that are steamed and very simple. I also practice proper food combining. I haven't died yet from overdosing on the

I second what Ryan said about the fat. I do a spoon of raw coconut butter from Artisana (the only pure one I've found that is raw) every day and it's good for my thyroid too

I haven't read this book, but I know that prior to turning high raw 18 months ago, I couldn't tolerate grains. I had to eliminate wheat and all gluten as well as the other common food allergens (dairy, etc.). I noticed big-time immprovements in my digestive tract health by not eating grains.

I've been there and am there now. I have to do some tweaks with my diet, but I keep getting guidance to try some maca. I have been high raw for 18 months and have recently switched to a lower fat raw version. Not so sure it's good for me. Then again, I feel best eating 80 percent raw and then, 20 percent cooked, macrobiotic foods. I don't do well with lots of nuts and seeds due to tummy

I relate very much. I used to race and train on my road bike while eating raw. I've switched to mountain biking 'cause the training is better for my body 'tho I still ride on the road For me, I have to stabilize my blood sugar in the a.m. as I am prone to hypoglycemia. I find this way, the rest of my day goes better as far as not feeling like I need to constantly eat to not feel famished a

Hi, Just curious if anyone has read the book, "Sunfood Diet Success System" by David Wolfe? I haven't seen it in person and am considering ordering the new 6th edition. Wondered what you thought. Also, does it have any recipes in it or not? I'm a big fan of David Wolfe, but have yet to read his books. I've only read his articles and such. Any help would be most appreciate

I did order Victoria's Green For Life book today, but decided I'll wait before ordering any more of her materials, etc. I ordered some cool-soundin rawkin'book called Angel Foods too--obviously by a different author. I guess myself I like to eat my greens in salads more, but I like to add them in creative places like smoothies whenever I can since I'm an athlete...I like to have those amino a

I believe that being high raw since 2005 has inreased my awareness of my spiritual path. I was consciously on the path prior to turning raw, but I find that being raw has created more clarity on all levels in my life. The most obvious one for me has been being more aware of my feelings emotionally and how to process them in the most healing way for me. Also, I have noticed a deeper connection

I've been going for 2 years. I only go once per month though. My upper cervical chiropractor only does that so it's nice to have someone who specializes. He does heat scans each time and that determines what type of adjustment I get as far as amt. of force, etc. It's very gentle though. My regular chiropractor used to cause me a lot of pain, so I was guided to go to the upper cervical one

Thanks so much for the replies and feedback! I am thinking of getting the book Green for Life for sure. I am feeling in a big time rut with my raw diet. Maybe I need to buy some new cookbooks or something too? I like simple foods without a lot of hassle nowadays since I went a year making all kinds of gourmet raw dishes...I am burned out on it now I have been feeling depleted big t

Hi, Just curious what you guys think of Victoria Boutenko's books, DVD's, etc., etc.? I am drawn to her work and I think it's to help me with the next phase of my raw journey. I've been raw 17 months (90 percent or more) and it feels like I'm ready to move to the next phase. I'd love to hear some feedback about her work before I order her educational package Thanks in advance, With

I feel after being raw for 16 months+ that I have pretty much reversed my IBS. I have flare-ups if I am stressed. Also, in the beginning, I had to watch my seed intake. It wasn't such a big thing with nuts, but too many seeds flared me up intially, but now, I can eat a small flax cracker no worries. I still watch just to err on the side of caution. I eat tons of parsley 'cause I make a ton

Hi, I haven't been on here in so long that I had to change my username and create a new profile LOL. Howdy! I've been high raw (90-100 percent) since December 2005, so about 16 months. I'm tired of the same food as of late. I really feel I need to modify my diet so it meet my needs as a serious, competitive bicycle racer. I notice intuitively I'm adding more greens and sprouts to my d
