Have any of you ladies undergone this procedure? Do you have any side effects? I am facing having to make this decision for myself by early November and I'm on the fence. I don't want any more children because of health issues with my uterus. It seems simple to have the ol tubes tied but is there anything I'm not being told? Just wondering..... Lauralai

Hi, juicin john, actually the greenstar was 150 dollars more plus shipping. It may not sound like a lot to you but for my family right now it is a fortune and the whole thing was to get juicing while I was still pregnant. We are living on my husbands student loan and food stamps because I am at home with our young son and am having a complicated pregnancy that prevents me from working. We get exa

Nope haven't tried wheatgrass yet. I'm getting such strong reactions just from spinach juice and other mild greens like celery juice that I'm going to hold off on the wheatgrass. I don't want a real strong detox while I'm preggo. I've had 5 surgeries in the last 5 years, plus one coming this November (c-section) so I know there are alot of toxins in my organs and tissues. Someday I will get back

Thanks everyone so much for the input!! I ended up going with the Omega 8003. It arrived a few days ago and I LOVE IT! It's definately an upgrade from the champion. It's much quieter and easier to assemble. And easier to clean. I made banana ice cream with it last night and it worked much better than it used to with my champion. I'm very pleased. Let the healing begin..... Lauralai

I make the almond mylk and it is delish! 1/2 cup of soaked almonds 1/2 cup pitted dates tsp vanilla pinch of sea salt 5 cups purified water I mix it all up in my vitamix, a regular blender would probably work, and wallah! It's so foamy and yummy that I have to have a cup of it right there. I think though if hubby ever wants to go for some that I will strain it because it is pretty gritt

Thanks for all the support guys! Just wanted to share another smoothie experience. Yesterday I made my nut mylk, banana, peach smoothie (ran out of cacao) and offered some to my 8 month old son, and WOW! I have never seen him go for anything like that! He is (unfortunately) formula fed and just now going on solids. He eats the babyfood fruits ok but it's a one day he likes one day he doesn't, you

Oh my gosh, you had to go up to the office and eat healthy food, hidden away in secret so the junk food junkies don't see you. What a joke! This world boggles my mind with stuff like that. Definately write to the paper!

I know it's not much but I'm just surprised. I really had a goal of 80% raw, but so far, I just don't want to eat cooked. Now that isn't to say I'm not overeating, I feel I definately ate too much today. But I am 5 1/2 months pregnant so I guess it's ok once in a while, but I don't want to end up as big as a house! This whole raw thing started about 2 months ago when my digestive disturbances

It sounds like mumps to me too. My friend got it last year, there was a bit of an epidemic in these parts. The symptoms you are describing sound just like it.

My hubby is quitting his beer drinking (hallelujah!) and I was wondering if anyone has good ideas for what kind of fresh juices would be best to help him along. I don't want to increase his detox symptoms, just help support his organs and give him something to go on. Thanks everyone, Lauralai

Can anyone recomend a reputable online vendor to get an omega 8003? I have had some problems with online purchases in the past and don't want to just blindly order without hopefully getting some feedback. I sure do appreciate it! Lauralai

Hi, I was diagnosed with fibroids a few years back and i was having TERRIBLE periods!! I think the largest one they said was like 9cm and there were a bunch of little ones all over. I was vegetarian at the time but very unhealthy. Lots of junk food and proccessed food. I started eating more whole foods, and getting LOTS of excercise. Not anything hardcore, but I would walk and hike all the time.

Hi everyone, I just wanted to say Hi and introduce myself. My name is Lauralai, and I am currently living in Wisconsin. I'm 38 years old and have been vegetarian since I was 12. Hi, I am new to the board and I'm in Waukesha for the time being. Going back to California at the end of the year. Finally! I've been so homesick. I'm just starting on a raw journey to help heal some health problems that have reared their head these last couple years. I am so lucky to have a vitamix and I'm waiting for some parts to get my old champion up and running. So at the moment the only ra

Hi all, I am totally new to this board and haven't even gone raw yet. I'm pregnant and am experiencing such health problems that I've turned here. I have an old champion from my younger and healthier days but I need to get a few parts for it. Just wondering if I should invest in the parts or a new juicer? I don't have much $$ and the parts would set me back about 100 bucks. Any input would be gre
