Hi Raw Foods Thank you for your post... And Jodi thank you too for listening to me complain. I finally talked with the young lady at the health food store and she said they dehydrate their cooking for almost two days. There's the rub. Just not in there long enough. I am trying again today, same recipe will keep you approx. two days... Thanks Folks! Marble

Jodi, thank you for the advice. I have them in a tupperware thingy and they still taste good but are very moist/wet. Since they never really dehydrated properly how long will they be good? It will be a week on Sat/Sun. Thanks, Marble

Ok, so after like 15 hours they tasted good but were still on the very moist side, even though they were holding up as a cookie. I left the house and took them out of the dehydrator and put them in the fridge, and they didnt quite shape up so I put them back in the dehydrator... by 11 pm tonight they will be as done as their gonna get. How do I 'keep' them from spoiling? What kind of contain

Thank you so much. This is a brand new 4 tray Excalibur...My first foray into anything dehyrated. I stayed up til 3 in the morning to make sure it wouldn't burn down my house. Silly me! I took a wee taste, it is good just not quite done. Too right, I will make them thinner or smaller next time, OR simply start a day or two from when I want to EAT! Thanx again, MarbleFox

Hello Forum Family, I made some cashew, apricot raw cookies, placed on sheets and put in dehydrator last night around 7 pm at 105 degrees. The cookie recipies I've found that are similar all suggest 10 hours at 105. I am now up to 14 hours and they are still pretty soft to the touch. They are formed enough to pick up. But, the kind I guess that are made at the health food store, are

Christine, I just bought the brand new 5200 series refurbished but looks BRAND NEW for around that price. These machines are just amazing. I am sorry you have to sell yours unless you have two or are upgrading. They can do so much. Yeah, try lowering the price. Good Luck

I have been on a green smoothie mostly vegetarian diet now for two years, (lost 80 lbs) I walk too. I have struggled with my old blender and a really nice juicer from Braun I think. Anyway I purchased the Champion juicer which is wonderful, it also has a blank to make a really nice soft serve type ice cream out of frozen bananas (and whatever else frozen suits your fancy) just add in.

If I could only get one it would be the Vitamix... it can make juice and so much more. You could always strain out the bits if you want clear juice. I have the Champion juicer with the homogenizing blade which makes something like a soft ice cream with bananas then other fruits to taste. But the Vitamix makes ice cream too, soups, smoothies and juice. I got the 5200 recently and it also

Green Smoothie Either mashed dates or agave nectar for sweetness Kale, Collards, OR Romaine (my preference is Kale) Huge handful 1 large ring of fresh pineapple 1 large apple 1 pear 2 frozen bananas a medallion of ginger chopped (the size and thickness of a quarter) and a small amount of vanilla protein powder (this makes it the consistency of a milk shake) and adds a bit of flavor

Thank you very much for your helpful suggestions. I do share my produce with my neighbor but the ginger root is just a lot to use either way. Thanks again I appreciate you taking the time to answer my questions... whoo hoo! Sue

Hello Forum Family, Any suggestions. My ginger root spoils, softens long before I can use it up. It comes as a 'bag of ginger root'at my store... tons of the stuff. Rachel Ray on TV suggested cutting it up in chunks and putting it in the freezer. I tried that and when I went to use it and it thawed out it was mushy, spongy and very juicy (you could actually squeeze it like a lemon)???

Hello Newbie, Last year when I started working with raw I asked the same question. Here is a recipe I tweaked a bit. And one suggestion was to take the kale, cut out the hard spine first, I wash the kale, cut it smallish and freeze individual servings in baggies... Yes I know it is now frozen, but it keeps and I was told it has a sweeter flavor and when it is frozen & you can sort of

Yes, I eat them skins on. I am not a big peach person but when I do eat them I never cut off the skin. If they are not organic (bad me) I will wash them carefully... I don't know the nutritional benefits of the skin... marblefox

Hello Forum, I am relatively new to the raw concept and working my way into it. Does anyone ever have alcohol? A beer or drink or wine at a party? I am not someone who drinks that much to begin with... I don't have a problem with it - just over the years I didn't drink that much. Just that few and far between 1 drink at a party. Was just wondering???? thanks...Sue

Hi Folks... I am brand spankin new to raw and all that it entails... I am in the most infant stage here just feeling my way. My first question to the group for help is this.. I have IBS and diverticulosis not supposed to eat seeds.. Duh! now what?... seeds seem to be so much a part of the raw diet and constitute the 'treat' as well... Also I want to switch cold cereal (mostly shredd
