That's so interesting Lee! I had been wondering why I get symptoms: 1 min - 2 hours after ingestion with fruit 1 - 2 hours with cooked veg 2 - 6 hours with grains 4-12 hours with flesh It's because they take different times to leave the stomach! I used to think I wasn't having a reaction to fish (sorry! when I was still eating it) but I then noticed it would take up to 12 hours to feel i

Hi there, I don't mean to argue with the detox theory but I only found out about my condition (histaminosis, sometimes known as histamine intolerance) after going on the 80/10/10 The sudden histamine overload led my body to shut down and I was seriously ill for two years till finally finding a specialist in London who diagnosed me. I had been living with it for years, and while it did bother m

zinc. every time my hair falls out it's zinc. I really need to keep an eye on my intake otherwise it slips to negligible levels. ask her to keep track on fitday for a week or so and then cross reference the deficiencies with hair loss and you should come up with something. other than that, my hair sometimes falls out when I have a bad allergic reaction (shampoo, conditioner, food etc).

So my muscle cramps were definitely related to my allergy because they disappeared at the same time I stopped sniffling. So amazing to actually have allergy symptoms resolve instead of snowballing and it suddenly becoming impossible for me to tolerate!

Thanks for the reply David. I might give it a few hours and see if it calms down again. I'm itching now which means I've come into contact with something I'm allergic to and I sometimes get muscle cramps when I have an allergic reaction. I have dust all over me (was reading some old books in the attic!) will shower and see if that improves things. And it is my first fast which is why I'm

Hello, I'm doing a 3-4 day fast to reset my system and try and find some relief from bad allergies. I'm just coming up on my 25th hour and I'm experiencing some muscle cramps in my legs. I've been walking around a bit at home doing things, maybe I shouldn't do that? I thought it wouldn't hurt so early in the fast but not having done this before any thoughts would help! I'm in good health a

I'm not but I did buy mine there. Hmmm, I wonder why that would be. Maybe it's because it's only 83% (or something like that) effective...you have to really be strict about following it. Lifesaver for me though.

Hi Jodi, SO sorry to hear about your father. I agree with Bryan and everyone else but I also think you can still try little things that bridge the two approaches. Dr fuhrman's website sells a dha formula rich in omega 3s (to reduce inflammation). They're colorless and tasteless (and vegan). You could slip a couple of drops in your dad's food to give him some much needed nutrition. How

I'm really surprised no one here uses persona. It measures hormones in your pee, you test 8 times a month and it tells you whether you can safely,um, enjoy your partner, or not. It's basically the reverse of the ovulation kits...same tech just to do the opposite of have a baby!

I use a persona machine for BC because pills made me crazy sick. you test 8 times a month and it gives you green, red, orange (orange means pee on a test stick please!). It measures lutenising hormone. Been using it for years without accident. But you have to be disciplined to use it. Re welbutrin, are you taking it for something serious? If not there are many other alternatives. Kanna (scele

Hi Bryan, That's heartening to hear. I've been cooked vegan for a while now but I still feel like my body is in overload. Raw foods have less of a negative effect on my digestion than the cooked v, but they do make my throat swell up which can be a little scary (though I've never suffered anything that would make me go to the hospital). Is there anywhere in Thailand you can recommend for t

No offense to anyone...just some info... People are sometimes paid to make contributions to forums that are not overtly selling (ie there's rarely a link) that encourages people on the forum to check out the products. It's called online PR/linking. They tell posters to make sure they contribute to the board/conversation in a meaningful way that does not repeat anything people have already said

Hi there, Thanks for the reply. Unfortunately the pills are made from pork enzymes! I'm taking fruit enzymes but they're not agreeing with me either. I have an appointment with another specialist in a couple of weeks and will start acupuncture in Thailand. The irony is that what's causing my histamine overload is oral allergy syndrome which is caused by fresh fruit and vegetables. That's w

Hello, It's been a long time since I've posted here. Last time I was here I was having a number of health probs docs couldn't diagnose (what's new!). I have histamine intolerance. If I eat too many foods that release or contain histamine, my body falls to pieces. Anxiety, depression, diarrhea, constipation, fever, rash, bronchitis symptoms, visual disturbances and all kinds of fun stuff. I fin

I feel that way after fruit..I know I'm not supposed to eat before bed, but anytime I'm not able to sleep or am feeling anxious about something, I reach for something tropical - a mango or pineapple. Knocks me right out! Can't eat them during the day anymore - I wouldn't be able to leave my bed at all. Very relaxing though..

Ah, interesting Bryan..I was about to book the spa resort too. Unfortunately I've cancelled my trip. My doctor says it's a bad idea since I'm still on thyroxine and my hormones are fluctuating because I've been weaning myself off it. He said my metabolism is already low due to coming off the thyroxine and that fasting will lower it even more. Anyone know about this? He's a pretty open min

Blue?! Interesting.. One things that's kind of worrying me is that the island is pretty far from bangkok, and I don't know if I'll feel up to buses and walking and planes a couple of says after fasting. My mom had thins to say: "how can you go to thailand and not eat any of the wonderful food!".

The place I'm going seems to be very enthusiastic about something called "parasite zapping". Anyone know what that is or had it done? I'm really only interested in the yoga and meditation..but the name intrigues me. I could look it up, but I prefer first hand experience!

Hi Lee, Thanks so much! I was surprised to see the silver and the emergen C in particular. And the digestive enzymes..well..I would think I would get those from the papaya and mangos.. I think I'll be doing mostly green juice with some fruit..I'm hoping to finally get the taste of the famous durian that everyone talks about!

Forgot to mention, the place is called "The Sanctuary". I was also wondering if anyone knows the "Arise and Shine" products. Otherwise, does anyone have any ideas for good fasting retreats? Something not too hardcore..would like some sun and massages etc too! Thanks everyone!

Hi, My friend and I are heading off to an island near koh samui to do a fast. We'll be there for 12-14 days..they recommend you spend as long 'recovering' from the fast as you spend on it. So, was thinking, 2 day pre-cleanse, 7 day fast, 4 day recovery. I am new to fasting, this is going to be a really basic intro. They use Arise and Shine products. I was wondering if I could get some in

I have many of what has already been mentioned..and my thyroid seems to be healing. I need half the thyroxine I was originally prescribed..hopefully soon I won't need it at all. And here's a strange one..someone today commented that my eyelashes are abnormally long..I haven't been wearing mascara recently, just put it on today, and wow, they are waaaaaaay long. Thanks Greg :-) I totally agree with what your teacher said..I asked my doc what she thought of statins. She said that the trend in europe is to recommend diet changes. Then if it becomes apparent that the patient is not willing or able to stick to the dietary changes, only then are they prescribed. She said they are not significantly better than diet changes, and the side effects are unaccep

Hi Greg, By too high and too low, I mean that there are always 'normal' values (taken by averaging out test results of the local population in the country where you live). My tests came back with little asterixses (sp?) next to the three results I mentioned. It doesn't mean they are bad, just that I tested beyond the set normal ranges for the population.. My doc basically asked if I was try

I was going to say the same thing as arugula. You must be very very careful using henna on chemically treated hair and vice versa. Hairdressers HATE dealing with people who've had henna..it makes chemicals go weird..very weird..I speak from experience :-) If I had to take a guess, I would say the blonde henna is aimed at women with already blonde hair, and it will just add shine or something.

Hi there, I've been using a machine called PERSONA. You urinate on these sticks 8 days a month, and the machine measures the hormones in your urine (I believe it's LH) to tell you which days are safe..you have green days, yellow days, and red days..no temp necessary and I believe the effectiveness is 90%. I've been using it for 3 years without incident. The sticks you pee on are like the clear

Hello, It's been a while since I posted, thought I'd share some of my news. I was on the 8/1/1 for about 3 months, before that I was various stages of raw (50-80%), still low fat. Before that I was a non-dairy pescetarian (is that something I just made up??) with good eating habits. I wasn't able to maintain the 8/1/1 for longer than 3 months. I was feeling amazing for the first, then i
