32. Re: Make up
Like greenie said, a lot of cosmetics have so many toxins in them. I really like the website: www.cosmeticsdatabase.com. It rates all kinds of products (toothpaste, makeup, deodorant, shampoo, etc.) and breaks down the ingredients and if they are known to cause any harmful effects. It also shows what products are tested on animals. It's been a great reference for me.
Ever since I started to cl

35. Diabetes
Hi everyone,
I recently viewed the 30 Days Raw clip on YouTube where some people with diabetes were able to go off of insulin medication after 30 days raw. Does anyone know what kind of raw food diet helped these people accomplish this?

Hi Gypsy,
At the time I was raw the only coconut I consumed was the occasional coconut water from baby Thai coconuts.

Because I have read on this board and on other sites that fats can slow down the detoxification process. And in my own experience I have found that it is harder to digest a lot of fat.

No.

Yes.

I have been contemplating stopping my medications and starting a raw food diet in hopes to heal myself. It helps to process this on this board and I thank you for your responses.
Anaken, you hit the nail on the head when you said that I might have to be okay with not being okay. I think that is why I have been so scared to change my lifestyle. Out of fear that the damage has already been done.

hi love
yes, i have experience with amenorrhea. after i went off birth control pills (i took them for 10 years) i stopped getting a period naturally. i went on them when i was 14 because my doctor told me it would help with cramps. i never should have listened.
after about a year of not getting a cycle or ovulating, i finally went to a specialist who diagnosed me with Polycystic Ovary Syndrome

Hi everyone,
I know that a raw food diet has helped cure many people of disease. Do you think that a 100% raw food vegan diet can cure any and all diseases??
I'm getting to the point where I am fed up with Western medicine, Ayurveda, and TCM. I guess I'm just scared to go 100% raw. Scared that it won't work or it will take too long to work.

Please do not believe that everyone on this board is eating raw, healthy, and/or happy! There are many people on here who are trying to recover from diseases, syndromes, and disorders. There are many people who are

Hi everyone
I've been reading up on fruitarianism, as it seems that there are some people on this board that follow this lifestyle. I have some questions about it for the people who consider themselves (or at one time were) a fruitarian:
1. What defines fruitarianism? I have read several different definitions so I'm wondering what the consensus is here.
2. How has this change in lifestyl

Hi there-
I know some people won't use it here because I don't think it is considered "raw" but I use nutritional yeast in my salads. Four tablespoons gives you 560% RDA of niacin and 42% RDA of zinc.
For protein, I enjoy sprouted beans such as chickpeas or lentils. If you are going to sprout beans, make sure you look up which ones you can eat raw since some in their raw state ar

58. Omega 3
Hi Everyone,
I've been reading about the importance of Omega 3 fatty acids and DHA/EPA. I'm trying to get pregnant so I want to make sure I'm getting enough of what I need. Is there an established daily recommended intake of Omega 3's? Also, what do people eat for DHA/EPA? I'm new to this subject so any help would be appreciated.

59. water fasting
hi everyone
i picked up the book, "Fasting and Eating for Health" by Dr. Joel Fuhrman today. i was surprised to read that he does not consider a juice fast to be a fast and that a true fast is one where you only drink distilled water.
what are people's experiences with water fasts? the thought of it intrigues me but scares me as well.

how did you discover you had candida? i have been reading up about it because i suspect i might have it. i've read two theories to help with the symptoms...to cut out sugar or to cut out fats. so i'm a bit confused as to what to do. what has worked for you?
