Well, if you wanna go there...it's more of an endless game of holding a flashlight in one hand, manipulating the tonsil with your pinky on other hand, while strangely contorting the muscles around your tongue and the roof of your mouth until you get just the right angle and pressure so the thing pops out. It's pretty satisfying, to be honest!

April 3: 1pm: 8 bananas 4pm: 1/2 pound green grapes 8pm: 1 pineapple, 2 navel oranges, 1 head romaine lettuce I'm feeling so relieved. Today I scored 2 cases of organic bananas for $35. Usually I pay around $30 per case, but I got a discount on a bunch of ripe 'naners! Now I have enough food to last me a couple of weeks, at least!

I've also noticed cleansing symptoms occurring around my tonsils. I've gone back and forth between raw and cooked vegetarian and one thing I've experienced each time I've come back to raw is a period of several days where many tonsilloliths emerge from my tonsils. I attribute it partly to moving to a cleaner diet that allows my body to cleanse itself more efficiently and deeply, and to aerobic ex

These are mixed varieties of dates grown by the Date People in Niland, CA. They are "product grade", meaning that most of the dates are semi-dry to dry. Would be great for backpacking trips, long bike rides, or healthy snacking. They are sustainably grown, hand picked and processed and are not heated or treated in any way. The only reason I am selling them is because I mistakenly ordere

Bryan, I'm curious about how you handle food combining principles for your first meals of the last couple of days. Do you wait an hour or so after eating the honey tangerines before moving on to the dates? Or are you not as sensitive to acid fruit/sweet fruit combinations after several years of raw? Thanks for any insights you care to share Adam

March 26 12:30pm - 2 pounds grapes 4pm - 20 dates, 5 ribs celery, some grapes My box of dates arrived today. Since I've been really watching my budget, I ordered 15 lbs of "product grade" mixed dates for a discounted price, thinking that most of the dates would be somewhat wet, with some dry and crystallized here and there. To my disappointment, they were all very dry and thus no

March 20: 1pm: 8 bananas 6pm: 10 bananas + 1 head romaine lettuce this week i've been eating conventional bananas that i got from the Food Not Bombs donation. they taste pretty flat and i've noticed that the only way i can eat "enough" to satisfy my caloric needs is if i blend them. but, when money's tight you do what you've gotta do...

jenontheshore, Maybe an equally important question is, what greens can you obtain that are grown organically in your area? I think it is definitely good to know the ins and outs of the nutritional makeup of various greens (Rob, that table is AWESOME!) -- but for instance, if I have a choice between Bibb Lettuce grown in rich mineralized soil by a local farmer or gardener, and a head of Collard

I will be traveling through the southwest and west coast this spring and summer and would like to help a farm/permaculture community achieve its goals while gathering as much experiential knowledge about growing food and living sustainably as I can. I'm particularly interested in communities that are growing a diverse array of fruits, incorporate permaculture, veganic growing methods, soil remine
