not to sound patronizing, but I've heard on this board that washing your face with honey helps to clear out your skin. I never really have bad acne, but I feel like my face is more cleaner and clear when I wash with honey. Hang in there tho. Before my ex went raw he had horrible acne. horrible. After raw it totally cleared up. I didn't even notice it, but then one day he was all like re

some people sprout peas. Occasionally I add corn in my salad straight off the cob. It's sweet. It tastes similar to what I remember cooked corn tasting like, and I'm not really sure why people cook it? I guess butter melts on it better if it is warm... I heard once that your body can't digest corn. Is that true? what's the point of eating something your body can't digest?

have you thought of packing foods that travel well? (carrots, celery, banana, orange, apple, ect) What did you do before raw for food on the go? It might take a little planning ahead, but it's all good as long as you take a nice pocket/buck knife (for peeling and cutting), and a bandana (to clean up your mess, put ur peels before you throw them out, clean your hands, clean your face, e

I am also very interested in what people will have to say about how they store their produce. I wash my fruits and veggies. I had no idea about the probiotics or soil. I just wash them because I think about how many hands that touch them before they make it to my mouth. A lady I live with always warns me about people in Mexico (she's Mexican) when she was growing up peeing in the fields w

Wow, thank you everyone for all your insight. I do consume a ton of fat. Haven't for a couple weeks and they got worse. I am going to stick to it tho because I don't think that so much fat is healthy anyway. Like I said in the above post, when I consume lots of fat, and/or salt, especially close to bedtime I have dark circles the worst. Nuts are probably the worst which I have not eaten

before: a little worse... a couple weeks ago... I never take pics when they are really bad. Sometimes they're worse then other times... like when I just wake up in the morning. I feel like if you are really healthy, you shouldn't be waking up all groggy and puffy purple eyed. Yesterday when I woke up it was the worst I had ever seen them. You guys will probably think I a

david that is really good advice. thanks. I guess it is really just common sense. What more can I do anyway? =P I'm pretty sure it's not genetic. I just freaked out the other day because they went away for a while, and then it got worse all of a sudden.

I have a very loving boyfriend who doesn't care about the bags under my eyes. It's not just bags tho. It's purple under my eyes, and I don't think it is healthy. I'd feel like if I were truly the healthiest I can be this wouldn't really be a problem as they are not wrinkles. It's not really a skin abnormality, it goes beneath that. I'd like to know how to correct this, or what it is caus

AAAAAAAAAAAGHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!!!! THEY MAKE ME SOOOO MADDD!! okay. here is the story with my eye circles. I'd really LOVE to heal them. i was anorexic for a long time. i wanted to recover and went to my conventional doctor, and conventional nutritionist. they told me some things, mainly i need a lot of fat and protein. I reluctantly listened to them as much as my body be

my mom heavily controlled what I ate when I was little. My sister and I were forced to eat meats even though she did not (she couldn't digest it and neither could we, but she felt like we needed to have meats or it would be bad because we were growing). I have developed horrible eating disorders. I don't know if it is related. One thing I can say about my situation is that my mom never told

I find that if I eat a lot of overt fats, especially before bed I get circles and discolored under my eyes and I can see veins under my eyes. idk if it's the same thing. If I eat more grass like things and don't eat before bed it is not a problem. good luck. =(

I have (i guess I have always had) low blood pressure. Is that good? I never had a problem with it. The doctor is always like... idk says it's not normal and it's not really good, but if I don't feel dizzy or feel like passing out then it shouldn't be a problem. low blood pressure = good?

Dragon fruits! The sensation surrounding this fabulous fruit can be attributed to a legend created by ingenious Asian marketers.According to the legend the fruit was created thousands of years ago by fire breathing dragons. During a battle when the dragon would breathe fire the last thing to come out would be the fruit. After the dragon is slain the fruit is collected and presented to th

i've heard of people chewing on different twigs and sticks to clean their mouths. I have heard of a lot of people who just use baking soda on their teeth. here is what i do: 6 parts baking soda 1/2 parts green powder 1 parts sea salt + water for me this works way better then tooth soap and I wish I had been using it all along.

Thank you for the info. I am not really concerned about pesticides tho. I don't use pesticides on my food at all, and I rarely but occasionally use a mix of castile soap and water on some flowers and plants when they are infested with aphids. I am curious what makes a soil organic as opposed to not organic? I don't mind sharing with the snails and the rollie pollies, I just don't want t

I suppose this could go under the gardening section, but i thought i would have more luck bringing this topic over here. move it if u must. I'm curious how many people grow their own food. I am also curious about soils and the difference between organic and non organic soils. I went to the store yesterday to buy dirt for my garden. They had a miracle grow "organic choice" d

there are lots of different varieties. the ones that are magenta inside are the most sweet that i've had. there are white ones too that are not as sweet. the magenta ones taste like heaven. just make sure they are squishy to the touch. not overly squishy. like ripe avocado status. mmmmmm... my favorite. i wish i lived in a place where they grew all the time. what a delicacy to ha

there is another post here recently (might even be on this page) about cutting expenses. I have been to a couple raw eateries around this area. One time I paid like $6 for a "green juice" that was loaded mostly with carrots and celery (even tho there were a lot of other ingredients in the drink on the menu I wanted to be able to have the opportunity of tasting). I was a little diss
