Hey Dave Mason, you there? Dave, can you organize this...? We could do this as a fundraiser. Dave's in FL as well as Suvine. We could start a betting pool and send the proceeds to a worthy cause!

Ok, I took the plunge! After a last minute flirtation with the Vita-Prep, I went back to my first love, the Blendtec. Because of the free shipping, they probably send it by mule, but when I get it, I'll be sure to let you know how it feels to use it. As I said before, I'm using a borrowed Cuisinart that is sadly flimsy. I'm looking forward to not worrying that mere greens are going to burnout th

You can't change other people. You can inspire others to change. "Be the change you wish to see in the world." -- Ghandi It's difficult to watch people do destructive things to themselves. I want to see all of my loved ones -- family and friends and kind co-workers -- "get" it. From what you said, it sounds like you are an inspiration... for those who are open to bei

You guessed the eBbayer right! It's PrimaSupply. I appreciate your letting me know they are for real. That info is a big help. They include shipping and it's new. Here's the link: So far, no response from rawguru's site. Thanks everyone. Your help is great. I really appreciate it.

I'm leaning toward the Blendtec because it's for me much less expensive than the Vita-Prep 3. I'll decide by the weekend. I have an email in to Raw Guru's website asking if they would match the Vita-Prep 3 prices I saw on eBay ($469). I just don't know about sending off $469 to an unknown. I have had great luck on eBay but... I really appreciate everybody rehashing this issue. You are all help

She and Bryan Au take some of the best food photos. We haven't had any food porn posted lately. We need a good long thread of food photos. That's so inspirational.

Fiber would be my concern. We need Arugula here but the last time she posted a few people got snarky with her. (Please come back!) I wouldn't want to live off of just juice... but I have friends who seem to live off of Diet Coke and Cheetos and they can't figure out why they are so tired all the time! ARUGULA PLEASE COME BACK!!!!

Cherimoya, I was just wondering yesterday what cherimoyas taste like. Now you have me wondering what sapodillas taste like! There's a large ethnic supermarket near where I live that has decent prices on lots of different kinds of food that Whole Foods marks waaaaaay up. At the ethnic market -- it's an old supermarket turned super ethnic market -- they have mostly Asian and some African immigra

Ditto dvdai. Many people seem to overthink every bite. I think if I eat a largely plant-based diet, I'll be fine. I'm always subconsciously tweaking it a bit here and there depending on how I feel, the seasons, what my energy level is, etc. But I'm not strident about it. And I certainly wouldn't get upset if your diet wasn't working for you because you weren't eating what I eat. Having th

What you said touches upon what I've been learning about "Non Violent Communication" (NVC). Really good stuff that resonates and leaves to a way you be right and kind. Google the term or head to YouTube: Rosenberg talks about how some people are still stuck in the"domination model" (because that is what they have always been taught and what our society often reinforce

Jgunn, thanks for the chuckle! Now, that's what I want in a blender... something to last longer than my marriage. Please! I am sure I would get more out of it. All and whomever... I know we have gone over this umpteen times on this board -- the Blendtec vs Vita Mix thing. So I will put THAT aside for now. But, do you think RawGuru is a good place to buy a Vita Mix? I ask because I notice his p

I'm open to conventional or organic. I've paid extra for organic that wasn't worth it, so the bottom line with this is taste. My friend lives in an area of Maine that has all crappy, old produce so whatever I can get that tastes good and fresh will be good. I'll check out those options (above). Thanks! I appreciate it.

I was 99% decided on a Blendtec and then saw your post. Oh my! Now, I'm rethinking. Do you know what the difference is between the Vita-Prep 3 is and the 5200? I've seen the 5200 for sale in a few places... I may be over-thinking this but I don't want to regret my purchase. After the blender purchase, it will probably take me a year to decide on a juicer! ha ha I used to juice waaaaay ba

I'd like to send a case of really good oranges to a friend who lives far from decent produce. I recall last year there was some posts about a place in FL (surprise!) that shipped cases of really good oranges. If anyone can let me know where I might look online or call if not online, I'd appreciate it. Thanks!

I don't own a juicer, but can you tell me what the difference is between the Omega 4000 and the Omega 8003. I hope to someday have more equipment to do this, so I'm curious why two different ones? Thanks.

I noticed Paul cross posted to other online sites. I guess he wanted to start a bunch of discussions. So we are discussing. It seems kind of silly to cross post to a bunch of sites, but in the larger scheme of things, oh well. I don't think what he has to say makes sense, but that's ok. I don't think there's a one size fits all approach to this, although many people who are ego-invested or

Sometimes if I am eating at friends' homes, I'll eat cooked vegan food. No big deal. It isn't a major part of my diet and life. I accept the food as an offering of love and eat it. Or not. Other times, I'll bring a case of clementines or mandarins or a few papayas and cut them up... Yum! Everyone gets to enjoy what I bring when I do that. I like Debbie's idea above, of doing your research bef

I'm with "fresh" on this one. Why would you put that stuff into your body? I don't think it is a cleansing reaction. I think you are poisoning yourself. What you were putting into your body sounds like something you might use to remove rust or barnacles or lime deposits. Vinegar and baking soda may be good nontoxic cleansers but not for your body. There are so many wonderful, fresh,

Paul said, "I can’t tell you how frustrating it is becoming to have people on a raw diet contact me for health advice, puzzled why they are still sick or not doing well. They tell me they are "raw," like that’s supposed to mean something." Wow. Why don't you tell them, nicely, that you are not available to give advice?
