There's a school-of-thought that divides Life into
four 25-year periods.....
1st 25 years.....growing and learning
2nd 25 years.....working...raising a family
3rd 25 years.....seeking enlightenment
4th 25 years.....Living in Blissful enlightenment.
I'm in stage 3....pleasant journeys to us all.....WY

Hey WY!!
You must be a really good motivator, because I had a mini-epiphany on my camping trip, and I now know 100% for sure that my life's purpose is to be an embodiment of unconditional love.

How Simple!!.....and so True. I might suggest you
take Unconditional Love to the Next Level by turning it within.
That is, every moment Love self...self...self. Become the Love
you want to see in others. Others will see it in you.....WY

Yep, that's it... becoming One with the Love. It's a package deal and it automatically transforms you and makes you become the love you want to see in others. You got it. :-)

I guess that's right.....it's a becoming. A practice
I like to use is 'visualization'. It involves looking in a
mirror, seeing myself as I truly am now, and then imagining
how I would be at my very Best. Keep looking...keep becoming.
There is No-Limit to how good we can be......WY
P.S. Regardless of what people say, Diet is the 'key' ingredient.

It's blood from all the cows he murders, plus the deaths of indigenous people and animals when rainforest is cleared for pasture land for even more cows. sad.

On a lighter note though, we have a flintstones type car in the yard at home. It's made of plastic, true, but you drive it with your feet. You're welcome to come over and experience the flintstone-y-ness of it any time you like grinning smiley

Many of us here don't 'fit' the typical Middle-Class
mold. All those distractions would take me away from my Purpose.
Some of you here are limited just by being in a seemingly Happy
Relationship. A good Relationship builds each Partner.....WY

Wheatgrass,
All I can say on relationships is that I never felt as at peace in one as what I could attain being alone.
It is taking alot of analyzing and soul searching to find out why this is true.
Maybe they werent "the one".
But anyway,at 45,it all seems less important.I am not just referring to relationships, but the whole package I mentioned.

Interesting though is that diet, journaling, and meditation seems to be a real foundation for my purpose now and that direct route to inner peace.

answer #1 ) yes for me

answer #2) I don't know if I am happy for "everyone". That is their prerogative , not mine. I wish them happiness but its not something I can coerce others to be.

answer #3) to stay in a place of gratitude and to achieve the goals i set up for myself

answer #4 same as answer #3. ONe is happiest when one is living correctly. To live correctly is to ceaselessly strive for what one believes in.

answer #5) yes, i'm busy

answer #6) of course we are in charge

For me I think I would be "happier" ie.more fulfilled or a sense of purpose,if I had more to do with the outside world.I just dont know.I work at home and am pretty reclusive. It seems natural for me.
Happy to me is always going to relate to feeling in tune with nature,or the seasons, and to be able to have a peaceful place you can go to and tune into what matters. Then partake of a hobby you can get totally absorbed in,and mix that all with the fine raw eating and a level of contact with others that is neither too much or too little.

To be.

I find that to look for another reason, is an excersize in some level of self resistance. As for what makes me happy...

Every moment that I choose to accept something.
Every time I acknowledge an admirable or appreciable quality in something.

My happiness encreases the more I do these things.

I think that ultimately my purpose is to embody love as well. I think that how I do that evolves as I go through periods in my life. I think it starts with self love and self care, because you cannot love others well if you do not love yourself (as in parenting yourself well, which is especially difficult if one has not been parented well). This is my biggest stumbling block right now. there have been times in my life when I have been better at this, but it takes conscious energy -- work. I know that when I am not loving to myself, I eat worse, don't exercise, am ruder to others, etc. I am struggling with this at this time (as opposed to other times, when I have been very clear about this). Right now, to exacerbate things, my oldest daughter is homeless with her two kids, and my oldest son is losing his mind, and there is nothing I can do about any of it, so I am feeling like my purpose doesn't matter (though I know that deep down it does). Maybe my purpose is to cry a lot.

I'd say your Purpose is to look at
your Life, right now, and start Cleaning House. Then
your 'real' Purpose will emerge.....WY

I agree!! People who want to be 'truly free'
don't want to be 'caught up' in another person, and all the
time involved. There's a lot to say about Physical Love, but,
Oh what a price to pay......WY

Hmmm.
Wheatgrass,
I tend to agree in general with that last post.
BUT,I view this time in my life as a time of getting centered inside,so I can again be in another relationship and have it be more "right" than any previous ones. But at this point in my life I just want to keep close company with someone. Not live together,or get married.

It really has been my experience,so far, that I find my most peaceful moments when alone.
Its a very unexpected thing to discover. But true.

And interestingly enough, the 'Physical Love' part of it I tend to be able to do without, and its the "price to pay' part of it is what I want. The relationship itself. The time involved.

I am an embodiment of the vastness of the Universe - a microcosm of the macrocosm.

My personal experience ultimately affects Universal experience.

It's my purpose to be the healthiest, happiest, and most vibrant person possible, in order to positively affect the Universe, so it can be the most healthy, happy, and vibrant that it can be.

We are all One.

Live Well, Laugh Often, Love Much
We are all in this together!

I agree!! Now what are we going to do about it?
Maybe......
1) Have a plan
2) Implement the plan
3) Live the plan
4) Don't tell anyone what you're doing
(it loses Power if you do)

I'm going to respectfully disagree with you on this one. I say spread the word, the more energy that's focussed on something, the stronger it becomes. Keeping positive things like that to yourself isn't as good as sharing it IMHO.

wheatgrass yogi..

i have "purposely" refrained from posting on this thread which you have created until i had thought it over very well and arrived tp a lucid idea which would be worthy to contribute.

please understand that i am do not consdier myself to be a guru, expert or anything of that nature....i am a hard working and sincere student in the art of living.

some of my postings may seemingly be deficienct in tactfulness but none the less they are well thought out and in most cases not from the realm "impulsive blabbery". each day i discover myself to be getting smaller and smaller as God keeps on getting bigger and bigger.

mans primary" purpose on this earth is the same for all.... that is.. to find the Kingdom of Heaven within themselves. the Kingdom of Heavan is the inner psychological developement of our born essence in contrast to our acquired personality false self. as it states in holy scripture "seek first the Kingdom of Heavan and all else will be added unto you". the Kingdom of Heavan exists in the Eternal Present Moment.

all other "purposes" are secondary and are tainted with self glory, imagination, illusion, self love of a negative kind, egotism, and a host of related adjectives.

extreme swings of the pendulum... with any kind of behavior... including diet fasting are to be avoided... in favor of balance and equanimity. yes .. there will always be a small group of gymnasts who become contorionist experts ..yet most of us can reapeat 99% of the benefits with a well though out consistently applied exer cie and diet routine.

all true and sincere human purpose resonates with our search for the Kingdom of Heavan within.

thank you for the opportunity to express these ideas.

It's okay for you to disagree with me, but I still think
I'm right. If ones habits vary wildly from the 'norm', it's
best not to say anything. I have a friend who has to let everyone
know, wherever she goes, that she's a Raw Food Vegan. It's most

JJ...This approaches "Purpose" from a Christian point-
of-view, and if it's 'for all' (as you said) it leaves out
2/3 of the World's population. That just can't be right. If
you could take Jesus out of the picture, "Kingdom of Heaven"
now takes on a meaning of fairness.....WY
