You're welcome.

Sorry about Avril Lavinge, Howie Mandel and Justin Beiber though. Ok, sorry about Celine and Anne Murray too.

Oh, and the oil pipeline. Even though it hasn't happened yet, apologies all over that.

It's sad that the whole of Canada has to suffer guilt over this decision that's being made but one province. Thanks a lot Alberta! >sad smiley. Our PM is behind it too, so ridiculous short-sighted. It's not going to have a positive economic impact anywhere it's just such a crazy thing to do at all! [thetyee.ca]

LOL!!!! Oy...Celine is like nails on a chalkboard to me...Avril is just Alanis (I didn't know whether to praise or bury Caesar) Lite so she's on the cusp. The Biebster?! LOL! I saw a part of that movie of his when I was at a teenybopper party last summer. Very much a bummer, man.

Matt Groening is American; born in Portland. I believe you were referring to his parents.

More:

Michael J. Fox (I loved the way he said 'sorry'--SOORIE--here in Chicago we say SAH-ree.

I had been meaning to add this one: the original Degrassi Jr./High from the late '80s/early '90s. I wonder how many people heard about the death of one of the characters. He actually died several years ago but for some reason it wasn't revealed until just the other day: [www.washingtonpost.com]

Sounds like everyone important or interesting is originally from canada. I watched a documentary about canadian rock history. I was surprised, so many songs I thought were american just are not. When I heard the song below, I said oh yeah, I that makes sense that it wouldn't be american.

I never thought of canadians as being psychedelic, but I guess they were or could have been. Its like oh yea, the 60s and 70;s was a time, not a time and place...

*shudders* BW, nothing makes me jump up and run to shut off the radio faster than that guy! Unless it's Bruce Cockburn, OMG *loathes*. Ok, Alanis, that twinky with all the black eyeliner, what's her name... avrel something, Leonard Cohen, ugh, my ears! There is some bad Canadian music (at least IMO), that's for dang sure.

Mislu, check this out:

"Hosted by Randy Bachman of The Guess Who and Bachman Turner Overdrive fame, Vinyl Tap keeps the rock rollin'."
See if you can listen to the show online, it's actually really terrific.
