You can now buy a robot parakeet, without having to worry about "feeding it or cleaning up the mess". Look it up. Thoughts? Mine are "arent automatic litter boxes, vacumes, and electronic cigarettes enough"!! Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/27/2012 04:34AM by eaglefly. Re: Perfect Polly

Date: August 27, 2012 09:06PM Although I understand and appreciate reasons people have for not keeping caged birds as pets, in the past I've had several birds as pets and they can be quite affectionate. I have my doubts about robotic birds satisfying the joy pets bring.
As a young girl, we kept a bird for an aunt who lived overseas for a while. It LOVED the old Lawrence Welk show and would loudly match the pitch of a singer holding a note. She learned several phrases in Spanish from her years in Venezuela; we didn't know any Spanish, though. She always joined in when people laughed. And she'd giggle when the lights were turned off. Quite a character! My favorite raw vegan Re: Perfect Polly

I mean,it sounds like a good idea outright, but when you see the commercial on tv,its just plain sad. Keeping you company while cooking dinner? And,cant those poor kids experience having a REAL bird? That you can get at any local pet shop? Whats next, perfect kitty? Its technology taken too far. Edited 1 time(s). Last edit at 08/29/2012 03:53PM by eaglefly. Re: Perfect Polly
