I have been working on making an electric guitar for myself and it should be done this next week. A dream instrument so far in every way! I can't wait to let it sing!

hi el natural

thanks for the good news ( i needed to hear some lately)

what are you going to play on it?

i like "Sleepwalkers"

i heard an electric guitar version of it on youtube

i think it was supposed to have been a song that was done in the 50's ( i think)

by carlos and santos

anyhow... it sounded great

and best of all, it has no words to it ( or at least i don't think that song does... sometimes i like songs that have no words the best)

There's a youtube song by the lead of pinkfloyd. It's just instrumental, that's close to the style I would play. I like jazz cords. I don't like heavy metal ect. Just easy listening. I will find that video and post it.

what is the name of the song?

another song i like that is played on electric guitar is ... oh no forget it.. my friend played it ( long time ago) on his acoustic guitar not electric guitar so maybe that is different

but i think the name of it was " Just Like Heaven" well... i know that phrase was part of the lyrics

he sung it beautifully and played nicely too

will never forget how he played that song

i wish i could hear him play it again
it would be

just

like

heaven

lost touch with him since

miss him

i wonder where he is

For guitars out of the box I like PRS. So mine is very close looking to a PRS double cut with a drop top. I'm using Seymour Duncan Humbuckers. The Strat sound for me is too brillaint. I will find a way to post pictures when its done.

Are you in a group Thoumas? I realy want to find other at least vegan or rawfood musicians. These animal eaters realy sent me a whammy this last week.

yes music is like etheral treasure

some of the most valuble treasure

treasure that can't be taken away once recieved

as a musician, to all, those treasures will always be free

glad you liked it

I dont like fast and furious

heart and soul and spirit together need to be the producer

it means nothing that you don't know names

just that you know real treasures

that keep you from being marooned

elnatural

ps if you post some youtube treasures you like, you may find them elnaturalized soon.

yeah elnatural!

I'm in a band called Union of Lanterns. We're a foursome, two guitars/vocals, one bassist, one drummer. Everyone but the drummer is a vegan, interestingly enough!

just add ".com" to the band name (with no spaces) and you'll find our website if you ever feel like checking it out!

I look forward to the guitar pictures! and the Gilmour vid was awesome smiling smiley

Thomas

Are you the guy in the black shirt front, or white shirt behind?

Nice clean positive sound you have. Good mix of accoustic and electric. In DQ your strat doesn't sound like one. In the 3rd you seem to have a keboard.

Any youtube videos of the group?

I will get pictures and sound files.

I can't wait to be in a group!

pear wood
lacquered clean
empty pure vessel
stilled and breathing
resonating before the storm

watching birds fly through gaping windows
of strings yet to be crisply tethered and
latched with a parsley bowtie

AWESOME guitar ( and i know nothing about guitars but i thought it was a DARN!!

lyrical looking guitar

w00t w00t!! thanks V smiling smiley

that guitar looks killer, man!!! it may very well be the only raw-foodist-made guitar! how exciting!

I'm the taller one...
I have a Toneworks pedal that has 30 different customizable effects that is the only pedal I own... I used it for DQ and use it for all of my other electric guitar needs.
Yes, there's definitely some keyboard/synth action going on in some of the songs, I did all of that too!

Thanks for checking us out... there are a few vids of us performing at an awesome local venue called "the Boathouse" on YouTube. Just search for "Union of Lanterns" there and you should find them (I should put a link on the website, thanks for the reminder!)

Talk to you soon!

Orianthi has a sound more like what I'm trying to achiev. The deep and mellow sound with lots of sustain. She has a nice style too.

elnatural, she's got a sweet soulful sound to her playing, I dig it!

thanks la V!! It's pretty awesome... last night my bandmate Darren and I played an open mic... we played 2 cover songs and 1 original... afterwards someone told us the original was the best of the three! that always makes my night!!

the original we played was "Don Quixote", although we did it acoustically (two acoustic guitars and two voices, unlike the full band version from the album/mySpace page)...

it's basically a song about doing the right thing even when everyone else thinks you're out of your "frickin" mind...

it tends to go over pretty well, and it's fun to play!

Man de La Mancha

don quixote

i know the two are somehow related
my high school did a play on it
though i wasnt in it
so i forget what it was

didn't don quixote have something to do with dreams and windmills?

anyhow... that's a cool theme for a song

i like it much
even if i never heard it smiling smiley

i listened to the david gilmour Marooned all morning and it helped me a lot to get something done.. and feel calm about it . it actually helped me to think better.. i think its cuz i felt more relaxed... but there is something really deeply entrancing about this wordless song

i think we should have an entire separate thread to discuss Marooned

Yes, marooned and other such wordless music that enhances..........

I created a logo for myself using my intials of AM The A is in the center of the M and looks like an A with wings. Yesterday I inlaid the logo on my guitar fret board. Pictures may be up tonight. Was hoping to have the whole thing done today but sereral things have prevented that. Today I will be putting the frets and tuners on.
