YUM! i stay away from commercial peaches usually because every time i`ve bought them they`ve been dry and disgusting but whole foods has had the best crop in! just thought i`d share my fav part of summer=fruit Re: Most delectable fruit

Date: June 16, 2008 09:15PM I hear you on the peaches! I recently bought a bunch of organic peaches from Costco of all places. They were so good that I had four before I got home. The front of my shirt was covered in juice and the steering wheel was sticky but all worth it! They haven't gotten any in again which makes me sad but the memories are good! Re: Most delectable fruit

Date: June 16, 2008 10:34PM Organic peaches/plums/nectarines/apricots run laps around the peaches I've eaten my whole life... and I've never tried any until about a month ago! They're so soft, tiny, and cute.
I remember, in the past, struggling to find plums that would both ripen and not be ROCK hard. The only thing I really want to eat besides those guys (and berries, always, berries), is a big sloppy watermelon. I ate a whole one yesterday. >8) Yum~ But when fall comes, I'm sure we'll all stop raving about peaches and watermelons, and move on to something else... until next summer. <3 The seasons bring magic to produce! I wish someone would have told me this when I was a kid... Re: Most delectable fruit

I wish someone > would have told me this when I was a kid... i had the greatest upbringing that way. i was raised on a farm in wisconsin and we grew our own produce. some of my fondest memories include plopping by butt in the middle of a raspberry/strawberry field chowing down. YUM! maybe that`s why i`m a fruit freak. wish my kids were as easy...city ids and convenience i`m sad to say play too big of a role in their lives i get the goodies in when i can and my daughter loves berries and my son loves melon so i guess that`s a start right? Date: June 17, 2008 11:44AM Mmmm peaches! The peaches in Mass. are a joke compared to the ones in California :{ A long time ago I had a dream about a peach; it was as big as my kitchen sink, which was where I was eating it. I looked outside at the sunset and the sky was the same color as my huge peach. One of my all-time favorite dreams!!! Re: Most delectable fruit

Date: June 17, 2008 03:06PM Today, we picked the first apricots from our farm. We have a few trees, and especially a very old one, with a trunk about 2 feet diameter. They are small apricots, but so good. And this year, it's loaded with fruits! Ripe plums! I can't get enough. Later, I'll have some organic blueberries, maybe some watermelon too. Next week: I leave for Thailand. I was reading in a guidebook about all sorts of fruits I have never tasted or seen before. I can't wait. Re: Most delectable fruit

Date: June 18, 2008 05:55AM You know, it depends on what I haven't had in a while.
I have been feasting on watermelon lately. It's the only thing I actually prefer to monoeat. But apricots sound yum, too. Re: Most delectable fruit

Date: June 25, 2008 03:00PM Right now it's all fruit around us in the farm. Apricots, plums, cherries, peaches, small pears (early variety), and now figs! We can just walk around, and eat from tree to tree, then, stop in the veggie garden for some greens. The summer sounds good, with all the watermelon, melon and tomato plants we put in the ground!
