hi guys, i donated blood today and my iron was almost too low. they had to spin it to get the true reading which was 38 which is the lowest i can be to donate. the lady told me to incorporate citrus into my salad consumption to help iron absorption, any other ideas or feedback?

Take an iron pill with your citrus every day for a week before you donate the next time.

I am not convinced that having high iron status is a good thing. Yours is in the normal range. Unless you are not feeling well, I don't see a reason to deliberately raise it aside from being able to give blood.

I got turned down too, last time I tried. And I was irked! I was in the normal range, but not high enough for them.
