Date: August 04, 2008 12:11AM hi guys, i donated blood today and my iron was almost too low. they had to spin it to get the true reading which was 38 which is the lowest i can be to donate. the lady told me to incorporate citrus into my salad consumption to help iron absorption, any other ideas or feedback?

Date: August 04, 2008 12:20AM Take an iron pill with your citrus every day for a week before you donate the next time.
I am not convinced that having high iron status is a good thing. Yours is in the normal range. Unless you are not feeling well, I don't see a reason to deliberately raise it aside from being able to give blood. I got turned down too, last time I tried. And I was irked! I was in the normal range, but not high enough for them. Re: lower range iron
