Date: September 28, 2008 11:03PM Anyone who orders dates online - like medjool, kalawi, honey, etc. Where do you order from to get some good quality organic dates?? Also, i love rutab dates, or dates in the softest and ripest stage. What organic site, if any, sells the best? And any advice on seasonal information for dates is greaat.

Date: September 29, 2008 01:55AM I've had good luck with Jaffe Bros [www.organicfruitsandnuts.com]
The bag with dates actually had liquid in it so I know they were quite fresh. Good luck. Therese Re: HEY! where to order some goood quality dates??

Date: September 29, 2008 10:42PM Hi, All! Speaking of dates, I was wondering if anyone knows whether all dates are safe for a raw food diet? Are they all dried at a low enough temperature to keep the enzymes alive? I really don't know the first thing about dates or how they're processed. Thanks in advance for any help you can give with my question. Re: HEY! where to order some goood quality dates??

Date: September 29, 2008 11:11PM Dates aren't dried, silly Well they dry some...they usually dry deglect noor dates and call them "bread dates" - use it for cooking
Dates look dried, but they grow just right on a tree. People have been eating them for so long and some anthropologists think that was a big staple in early human diet, i've read. They have more potassium then a banana among other really nice health benefits. I eat a ton after exercise - to get up blood sugar and restore muscle. bam. so they're just like fruit, no processing - just wonderrful also, wendy, I just finished off some honey and halawi dates and at first I was unsure about them but they got better every day. mm. The absolute best (when ripe and soft) are medjool, I think so far. They taste like caramel. But i've only tried those threeee! BUMMER I want to try them all haha. Wish I lived in california.
