I finally bought a 40oz Kleen Kanteen.

Whole Foods now selling them and I meant to get one a while ago anyway..so I bought one. Same price without the extra cost for shipping.

Not sure I like it though. It's kind of awkward to drink out of once it's half gone. You have to like squish your nose in the bottle with your upper lip or open your mouth wider.. er something. Just an awkward shape when you're used to "normal" bottles.

Haha! I hear you! I have one too, and use it at the gym and when out and about, but Mason Jars are much easier to drink out of at home, and while driving!

I've been in this position many times.
Better to throw it out than use it and not like it.
I like Mason Jars too.....WY

i considered that size for taking along with cups for sharing with the kids. that is more liquid than i need for myself, the 27oz is plenty! the 40oz would be good for a smoothie that you are going to drink half of later on. with a cup i mean.

That's what I was hoping I'd be able to do with it. But it'll be even more awkward at the gym on a machine..bending my neck all the way back trying to drink half the bottle.

I'm not good at drinking and driving..unless it's a water bottle with a sport cap. But not even worth getting the sport cap for this one.

Eh I don't like Mason jars..too fat and the biggest is only like 32oz.

lol 40oz is too small for me. I have to fill it like 2-3 times a day. I'm used to drinking out of the big "all day quencher" Poland Spring bottles. I like the sizes/shapes.

Is the 27oz easier to drink out of since it's skinnier? Less awkward ?

yes, absolutely, i find it very easy to handle and drink out of. i do have the sport cap as well though, i don't drink directly from the mouth of any jar as it contaminates the liquid within with mouth bacteria. maybe not important to some but it is to me, it makes water taste funky after an hour or so.

The only thing I don't like about the KK is that they're so noisy to open.

I have the 27 ouncer. I can see where the larger size could be tough to manag and drink out of. Hey you should write the Kleen people, maybe they can alter their engineering a bit in the future. Maybe they're not aware.

I emailed them about it but haven't gotten a response.

I have an easier time drinking out of those big poland spring bottles..so its not the size it's just the shape of it. I think they concentrated too much on making a big hole so icecubes can fit in it and so liquids could easily be poured in it. Too bad drinking out of it isn't easy.

lol. Noticed that too.
I'm going to buy the 27oz tonight. If I don't like it, then it's going back. I'd feel like a scumbag returning a used cup (eh they don't resell them anyway) but for that price, I'm not going to keep something I hate.
