Date: January 05, 2009 05:44AM Some of you may remember me from a year or so ago. I decided raw was too extreme for me, and I have gone through a lot of healing since then.
I did do some crash dieting and got really skinny, then binged and got back to where I was. I decided that I just need to be kind to myself and have given myself the following rules for 2009: General Rules * Golden rule: always ask, is this good for me? * Nothing forbidden, everything in moderation * Nearly forbidden: white flour, refined sugar, corn syrup, trans fat * Avoid like the plague: artificial sweetener & other types of chemicals * Eat in very small quantities, but avoid as much as possible: dairy, soy, any nuts but raw almonds * avoid unless necessary - coffee (drink tea instead) * Avoid eating after 8pm and finish eating even earlier if possible (at least 2-3 hours before bed) * work out at least 1 hour 5-6x week: pref. 60 min cardio & 30 min weights daily Daily * 3 healthy high protein, low carb meals o eat slowly o small portions o lots of green veggies o stop when still a bit hungry * 2 snacks allowed, but skip if not actually hungry o 2 pc fruit & 20 raw almonds total for 2 snacks Re: Quick Update

> 3 healthy high protein, low carb meals< High fruit, low protein works much better for me personally. (Tried high protein years ago and had major problems with it.) Your other recommendations are great!-- thanks. Sharrhan: [www.facebook.com] Re: Quick Update

Date: January 06, 2009 02:41PM Have you read "The eater's manifesto" by Michael Pollan? I think it's a very good book. He has a few recommendations at the end where he talks about how to eat "right". They do make a lot of sense (cooked or raw). Also, the book is pretty good overall. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
