Date: May 09, 2009 07:39PM Thoughout my health journey there is one thing I continued to enjoy...my morning cup of coffee (sometimes two).
Last Monday (May 4th) I had my coffee in hand walking to a meeting at work. I tripped and fell in the hallway....concrete floor covered with indoor-outdoor carpet. The mug fell and broke. I fell on top of the mug. The inside of my right wrist has a 3 inch gash. It took 18 stiches inside and out. Lucking I have no tendon injury although the tendons were visible at the time of the accident. I also have a bad knee contusion and strained ribs. Ya know... I just haven't had an urge for coffee since Monday! LOL WendySmiling in Oklahoma www.16weeks2health.blogspot.com 12/17/10.......240/155/125 Re: The Evils of Coffee

Date: May 10, 2009 03:44AM I have been off of the coffee for about a month now. I struggled with quitting the coffee. I finally don't like it. It was hard to quit though.
I hope you are feeling better though. Re: The Evils of Coffee

Date: May 14, 2009 05:24AM Yes, glad you're off the coffee.
People might be interested in a recent post on the Fresh Network blog, in which a UK Coffee Producers Association objected to Get Fresh! Magazine urging readers not to drink coffee. The association said, for example, that coffee in moderation (4-5 cups a day!) is safe. In fact, even one cup a day has been shown to increase blood pressure. If anyone would like to comment, here's the link: [fresh-network.typepad.com] Re: The Evils of Coffee

Date: May 16, 2009 09:14PM everytime this thread goes back to the top, i start feeling nostalgic about coffee again. i have had a love-hate relationship with it for many years. i loved it, and it definitely did not love me. i've been off of it for 2 months now, except for a couple of times that i had just a few sips....just enough to remind me how awful it makes me feel after the initial rush is gone. ohhhh....what a drug that is... Date: May 17, 2009 11:58AM I quit drinking coffee years ago. My husband drinks about 3 cups a day though. He sends me articles about how healthy a few cups a day is.
Why is the information so contradictory? It is like the chocolate debate. We seem to have a love/hate relationship with them. I am sure coffee is bad for me. I gave it up so slowly that I only drank it about once a month or so and it started making me feel very ill the day after drinking it. When I was pregnant and I gave it up abruptly, my eye twitched for about a week. That can't be good!! Sorry about your injury, Wendy. It sounds like a very painful fall. If it makes you give up coffee, it might be one of the healthiest falls in history, LOL! Way to turn it around. Re: The Evils of Coffee

I go by Looks and Feel. It gave me the 'jitters', plus I perspired after drinking it....a sign of Toxicity (the body trying to cleanse). By the way, this person is two years younger than I, but looks much older. I practice the "Law of Allowing" with him by not nagging, but rather focusing on his Good points...WY Re: The Evils of Coffee

Date: May 17, 2009 03:03PM It makes me perspire too, and gives me dry heaves. That sounds like rejection to me. Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
