Date: June 05, 2009 11:56PM Thanks, guys!! If this is what the "Big 6-0" is like, I guess I'm in for a mild ride, because it's been a very quiet, almost boring day. We went to the gym and did some Nautillus machines, and I bought some dishes at a secondhand store. (I bought my birthday gifts a couple days ago-- went to Wet Seal and bought a couple of purple tops.) I forgot to throw a party; I think I'll have a post-birthday party later this summer, and have my band play.

On my 55th birthday I was VERY good. I even made a raw cake for my big birthday party. That cake was SOOOOOOO good. Of course, in reality, it was so full of nuts, dried fruits and honey that it was a high carb/high fat nightmare masquerading as a fabulous raw treat, but I actually got a couple of people mildly interested in the raw diet that night for my efforts. Today I was just lazy. But I think in the near future I'll throw myself a 'post-60' b'day party and treat everybody to a raw buffet again. Really, so many of my friends are getting sick now-- one is in the hospital and another has glaucoma and diabetes!--that I really want to impress upon them that there's another way. Thank you! I try. I don't always spell out all the details of my mistakes on the world wide web, but I think it's important that long time raw foodists fess up to being human. I certainly am, anyway, and I'm not always 100% raw, much as I'd like to be.
