yellow stuff on mangosteen

I bought some mangosteen and after I got home I noticed there is yellow paste like stuff on it, near the stem, and some inside some of them. Do you remember seeing that? Is it organic matter (insect poo maybe?), dried sap?, or some pesticide residue...?
