Mushrooms help give substance to some recipes. Here's a recipe for a wrap that I use fresh raw mushrooms in.

I eat them in wraps as well. The serve as a "bulk" substance for me. I like the chewiness. This site lists nutrition facts;

I read recently (think on this site) that they provide a lot of vitamin D - especially if you expose them (upside down) to sunshine.

love love love mushrooms.

I'm not aware of any cons except that many people are sensitive to them as they can be hard to digest.

Mushrooms function in nature as "soil cleansers." Specifically they are good at uptaking heavy metals from soil. I think they're fine to eat as long as you're getting them grown organically,

Mushrooms grow in the dark.

We are light beings and IMO it is best to consume plant foods that require light for growth.

That said, mushrooms can serve as a valuable transition food.

Recently discovered to be high in B vitamins. Also, fairly high in aminos and glutamates. Great for adding density to nut loafs and pastes. Eat 'em if you tolerate them I say : )
