Date: July 30, 2009 06:16PM A good question(s), Lisa - I have wondered the same as well, it is neat to know others' accomplishments, and how they approach all of this. So, here goes...
42 - but still 18 on the inside! Male Juicer since '95 Vegetarian since - '00 Vegan since '05 Maybe 75% raw since '05 95% raw since '08 Getting technical, I am not sure if I can claim 100% raw, since I do still eat nuts which I guess is considered a "processed" food, since the govt. requires everything to be "killed" before it is safe to eat. 80% calories from raw food or better starting 2000 90% calories from raw food or better April 2007 100% the last 11 days.. I go off and on of 100% for various reasons... not necessarily because of addictions or cravings. But I am not a hard core raw foodist that believes you MUST be 100% to reap benefits (most see a benefit in as little as 80%) Re: a couple of very personal questions...

Date: August 01, 2009 08:19PM I'm 58, successfully raw for 23 years (this October), and before that, experimented with raw unsuccessfully for about 10 years. "Successfully raw" means that 23 years ago, I became seriously and faithfully committed to raw and vegan, but still had an unplanned-for cooked vegan meal about every 3 weeks. 19 years ago, I introduced live seeds/nuts (sproutable seeds and fresh nuts) to my diet, and I believe that helped me to drop the cooked foods. These days, I usually go several years at a time without having anything cooked, and I think I've lost the desire for it (but hard to say for sure whatever could be right around the corner!).
Kwan's a long-time raw foodie too. Congratulations to Jgunn for nearing her second year anniversary! And congratulations to all raw foodies, old and new, whatever raw "percent" you currently happen to be! Re: a couple of very personal questions...

Date: August 02, 2009 11:40PM 45. since 1995 or 1996. Mostly raw since then. But the cooked portion has often been like this: ^%*#@(!! Not thriving, that's for sure.
Jodi, thanks for showing me a new raw word! I see more RAWL the time! And, yeah, a hearty pat on the back to you, as well as to everyone, regardless of perceived success or failure. Just having the gaul to swim upstream, so to speak, is GREAT, in my opinion. Troy. This way is not compatible with Zen practice. Although the last week has been great, I don't see myself ever being 100% raw... who knows though. Maybe in 25 years I'll be veteran posting here Sorry, only registered users may post in this forum.
