Smoothies

Hi everyone,
is that safe to add radish tops, carrot tops to your smoothies ?
Do they have some goodness smiling smiley ? Otherwise tops are wasted especially if they grown organically in my garden.

ABSOLUTELY !!! Beet greens are also excellent in smoothies or juicing. Blend away!!! =)

and be sure to put the extras into your compost heap..!


i think you may want to go easier on the radish and carrot tops than you might with other things..the radish tops are quite bitter..The carrot tops are a bit difficult to blend when you use lots of them.

I find the "leaf test" to be a very effective way to select greens. Just take a leaf out of the bunch you are looking at and pop in in your mouth and chew it up. Buy the ones that taste good to you. I like spinach and romaine the best.
