dehydrated fruits ?

I understand that it's important to eat as many water dense fruit as possible, but I find myself quit frequently in situations in which it becomes quite a challenge to get enough calories by eating lots of untreated fruit. so I'm wondering to what extent it's okay for the body to eat dehydrated fruits like dates and raisens in large amounts? for example is half a kilo of dates a day too much? I don't have a blender with me when I'm out in order to make a drink out of soaked dates and some more water. is there a limit to dried fruits?

How does it make you feel? eat as much of it as your body seems to need. I was eating dried, but slowly I would feel worse and worse. Eventually I cut it out all together except for the rare instance.

David, do you include dates in that? I'm definitely trying to stop with the dried fruit, but I may make an exception for dates, because there's no other way to get them (this time of year, at least), and I'm infatuated with them. They don't seem to cause the same sugar problems as dried figs or raisins- for me, at least- but I suppose they're not as good as fresh fruit, though you'd have a hard time telling me that while I'm enjoying them.

If you make sure to get only the fresh, organic sun-dried dates, you'd be better off. The other dates may not be raw and to me there's a big difference in taste between fresh & dehydrated. In general, it's hard to find truly raw fruit in the stores and also it should definitely be organic.

I have actually been ordering organic sun-dried dates from Living Tree Community Foods, and by many times they're the most luscious dates I've ever tasted in my life. I also tried sun-dried fruit from these folks called "Raw From the Farm," but- not nearly as good.
It does see to me that sun-dried is much preferred.
