Green figs

I bought some for the first time--they didn't look right! Like they were not ripe or something. I have been eating Black Mission ones. I didn't really like these--it was weird--the riper ones were quite sugary yet the peel was kind of hard like a guava's. I think I'll stick with the black ones, LOL.

I always associate green with unripe so I've never really wanted to give them a chance. I really love ripe black figs, they're sweet and soft and fragrant.

I had local UK grown Green figs, they did not look right to me either but the ones I had they were lovely and really sweet and jammy so I thought they must be meant to be green and were ripe, although I know the other sort that are black when ripe, are unripe when green.

I got some black ones today, (imported) and some were not quite black and they were not as sweet as the black ones or the ripe green ones I had

Ariel: Yes, jammy! I thought that perhaps the green ones were overripe, but I guess that they are less watery than black missions, and don't have the seeds also. I think the color is so weird because it makes them look unripe.
