Date: September 17, 2006 08:44PM i'm not sure how it works with tomatoes. i know with spinach, there are some "supernutrients" that can become toxic in high doses, but that are not overly accessable when raw. so i can't help but think tomatoes are better raw, even if that one nutrient is less accessable.
i eat a lot of raw tomatoes. Re: Tomatoes, do you cook them or eat them raw?

Date: September 17, 2006 08:57PM Blending and juicing tomatoes increases assimilation of lycopene.
There is more lycopene found in freshly juiced or blended raw tomatoes than there is in cooked tomatoes Re: Tomatoes, do you cook them or eat them raw?

Date: September 17, 2006 10:58PM Lycopene is found in watermelons, and it doesn't require cooking for the body to assimilate it.

Date: September 18, 2006 03:43PM We pick them from our bacyyard and eat them raw! Yummy. But like Brian said, watermelon is even higher in lycopenes, and you don't have to cook it. Re: Tomatoes, do you cook them or eat them raw?
